Update on QuilterMom - Sept. 28th

Just received an update on QuilterMom. Kim is in good spirits even though they are going through such a difficult time. Please continue to pray, send good thoughts and hugs her way. I know she is deeply appreciative of all of them.

Things are pretty much the same for her, there were FPL trucks on her road today but these guys are not from her area and they are not familiar with how the electric lines work in her area so they are pretty much at a lose right now. FPL held a news conference, which Kim listened to on the radio, and said that they are hoping to have everyone restored with electricity by the end of 2 weeks but..............yes there is a but..........that is based on an additional 1100 workers coming into Florida to help out. If they can get these 1100 additional people by Sunday evening they are fairly confident that things will go according to plan. If they do not get the additional help they need it will be MUCH longer before everyone has electricity. Until there is electricity the phone and cable companies cannot do anythig either so everything is dependent on FPL right now.

One good thing to happen to Kim is that they got a reinbursment check in the mail today from FEMA.......it was for a bit more than they expected. They did get certain money back for having to buy the generator and the gas to run it and she isn't exactly sure what they based it all on, it didn't come with an itemized statement.

She said it is incredibly HOT and HUMID and sunny today........it cools down in the evening so they are turning the generator off at night to conserve gas.......nothing is open in their area and since it takes gas to run the generator they have to be very careful.

We just deployed a bunch of guys for Hurricane Relief....

Prayers being offered to those affected - and super big hugs for those we love there.....
