Last year we had so many I was losing my mind. I mean thousands were stuck to the house. Some got inside and congregated in our bonus room ceiling and they were plastered all over our seasonal porch. I was vacuuming them up. I had never seen so many, but had heard tons of stories about them.
This year, I saw a few but so far that's it. I think it was just too cold this year.If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. I miss the ladybugs we had in VA!! They are probably my favorite little bugs! In fact, I call the girls my ladybugs!

One year, we had so many & they were just EVERYWHERE!!
The kids were supposed to be going to a sleepover at a friend's house (we used to swap our kiddos to have some "grown-up alone time" with our spouses) and all the kids were goofing around till quite late --- Cindy finally called it a "night" at about 11:30 & when the kids flipped their sleeping bags out, millions of ladybugs were everywhere!!
The kids ended up sleeping in their room and she & her hubby barracaded themselves in the kid's room trying to rid themselves of ladybugs!!
We never had an experience equivalent to that one! Guess I still owe her!!

They are probably asian beetles. Are they a little more on the orange side? more orange than red? If so they are the asian beeltes and kill the suckers.

I have a phobia about ladybirds. When I was a toddler we had a really hot summer and there were thousands of them and they kept flying round me. I can't remember this as I was only 18 months old or so, but now when I see them I am scared.
Yet I know they are good for the garden so I just leave them to it as long as they don't come near me - if they do I run away like a big girl!
