    Default asian ginger

Here is an asian ginger growing on my front verandah. I think it's a thai ginger. It gets pink and lilac flower spikes.

I'm guessing that would have to be grown as a house plant in my neck of the woods. I love the leaves.

chriss, it dies down completely in winter and I store it in my bushhouse. As soon as the warmer weather starts, it shoots up those gorgeous leaves. The flower spikes start in mid summer.

Nice how nature places the delicate flower in the middle of those big beautiful leaves.

Gorgeous. I'm not sure if I'm more jeleous of the plant or the fact that its warm enough where you are too bloom!

I've never seen pink flowers on a ginger plant before! We had the Hawaiian white ginger growing in Hawaii along with the kahili ginger and many other varieties. It's beautiful!
