Down on the homestead - Feb. 13 - 19th
Good morning everyone. Its a beautiful warm morning here and the temps are rising. Gotta love this time of the year because spring is just around the corner.
Not much planned today as I'm going into the city in about an hour for most of the day. I don't know if the whole family is coming or if I'll go by myself.
Tonight I'm cleaning the post office and then coming home to read.
A fairly quiet day here today.

Beautiful sunny day here too and I'm with you in looking forward to spring CJ.
Mostly a puttering around kind of day here with love in the air as everyone has their sweeties with them, lol. My house is full of moosh & smiles, love it!
Hope to get some crocheting done and cook up a nice pot of split pea soup using a leftover ham bone for bunches of flavor.
Wishing you all a relaxing day filled with many good things.~*Darlene*~

Oh how green with envy I am for your warm weather and lax days!
Especially the warm weather!!! It's 30-something here in southwest Ohio... and I'm tired of it! *giggle*
I've not been feeling well the past week so I have today to catch up on all the chores that piled up (that I get no help with)... laundry, dishes, sweeping kitchen floor, grocery shopping, straightening up the whole house (putting things where they belong), taking out the big heavy trash (too heavy for kid - as that's his duty)...
Anyone wanna help?!?!?
Enjoy your great weekends - or what's left of it.
*hoping for a relaxing week ahead*

Hello all!

Here it is the start of a new week!
This morning Jaysn headed down to church with his buddy Dan and the twins and Jeff headed in to 2 differetn towns to run errands and give the twins some driving practice time. I'm home here by my lonesome
and thoroughly enjoying it!
I made a huge pan of jambalaya that is all warm and ready for all the guys when they get home and I still have some baking to do. It's raining off and on so we're having to use the dryer today but that's ok. I'm praying it's nicer tomorrow so I can do all the sheets and hang them out on the line to dry.
Tonight I plan on cuddling up with my crew and watching a DVD or video. We borrowed Shark Tales from Blockbuster (free rental certificate) and I can't wait to see it!
Be blessed!

I'm in for a few minutes from working outside to drink some water and catch my breath. I've been working on trimming around the fenceline in one of the back corners of our property. Dh has had to help me a bit (chainsaw) getting some of the stuff. I'll head back out and hit it again in a bit. The area I'm working in is a huge mess. I don't think it's seen daylight in quite some time!
This morning we went to Sunday School at the church we visited a couple of times back in December. We were in the minister of music's class and he was a fantastic teacher and the lesson was great. Still a dilemma for us though because we don't like the long length of the service and don't like the music (not contemporary).
I was going to do some baking today, but I think I will wait until tomorrow. I have some things to make tomorrow for Valentine's Day so I may as well just spend all day tomorrow doing that instead of breaking it up part today and part tomorrow.
We have dvd's from the library so tonight is movie night as was last night.
Have a great day everyone!

hello ladies!
This is mostly a clean up day for me although I do have to go to my DIL's to use her light box to trace a couple of patterns. It's raining here and not as warm as it usually is. The daylight is starting to change and a few leaves on my Japanese Maple have started to turn yellow and red. SO THAT MUST MEAN AUTUMN IS ALMOST HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's valentine's day here, not that it's a big deal in my neck of the woods. I might make heart-shaped pizzas tonight for dinner.
DS and I watched a great movie last night. Collateral with Jamie Fox and Tom Cruise. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Enjoy your evening.

Happy Valentine's Day Rhonda!!
Today is a beautiful day here. It feels like spring is in the air!! I have my windows open wide to let the breeze in and to air things out since we have been closed up. It is so funny how the temp changes so fast. Yesterday was cold and rainy and today it is 73 degrees. I will take that anyday!!
I got up this morning to fix eggs, sausage and biscuits. Dakota's favorite. He loves his eggs over easy. After breakfast I drove up to the convience store to pick up some papers for the coupons. DH called while I was gone and asked if I would bring him lunch. He has to work today. So while in town, I stopped by CVS and Walgreens to pick up some sales items.
My floors are vacuumed, swept and mopped. I have laundry going. Some blankets are hanging outside to dry! I love it!! I cleaned out Sassy's crate, our pibald daschund. I decluttered Chris and Dakota's room. I got rid of 2 bags of clothes and trash! It looks so clean again!! Breakfast dishes are washed. Supper will be catfish fillets.
I also been outdoors working and mended some latice on our porch. Did some cleaning to make the yard look presentable again. I haven't felt like doing anything in a long time....before Christmas. Maybe it was the weather. Now, I feel like I want to get up and clean. I even got out the windex and did my windows.
Needless to say I have been busy today, but I love it. I am glad I feel like I finally have energy again.
My 5 day weekend ends tomorrow. We will be back at school/work. I think the rest is just what I needed.
I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday.~*Michelle*~

Happy Valentines Day Rhonda!
Michelle~your weather sounds beautiful and girl, you are workin' too hard.
You are putting me to shame!
This morning we all went to church and I taught Sunday School. The girls were giggly this morning!
We came home, had lunch and then headed off to Delaney's skating carnival. The theme was Jungle Fever and all the different skating classes were a different animal, it was so cute! We got home here a bit ago and I am spending some time on the computer wrapped in a quilt, standing at the arena..I'm freezing!
Tonight we are having leftovers from supper last night. We had my parents over and had a great time.....lots of food left though, don't know who I thought I was feeding!
I'm going to be helping Delaney with some homework after supper and then off to bed early I hope.

Hi Everyone!
I am here! I posted an update in the behind the scenes thread about the next couple of weeks.
DH and I are going Colorado for DH's interview, check out the area to possibly live and for vacation all in one! We are so excited to be going! Kimmee I would really love to meet you...if you can see me!!

I loved reading through all your posts!
You all sound delightful!
We got a whole foot of snow over the course of three days! It's so pretty. DH and I spent the whole morning searching though several websited on all the places we want to visit in Colorado. DH left here at 1:00 to help work on a friend's car and then he will pick me up tonight so we can do some grocery shopping. and then continue where we left off on the Colorado website searching.
I am getting freezer meals prepared for our friend who will be staying in our apartment and watching our cats. I'm making a lot of food for him, it's the least we can do for his generousity! We need to catch up on bills this week and pack, my deadline for work is Friday... so I may not be here very much until after we get back from Colorado. I will however be here tomorrow! I have the day off and I do have lots of errands and packing, cleaning, cooking, etc. but will be here between it all!
Hope you are all having a great day!

Happy Valentine's Day!
I'm finally kicking this cold! Still feeling a little weak but another day should do it!
We are under a winter weather watch today, expecting snow, ice pellets, freezing rain and then the whole mess is expecting to turn to rain by tonight. Of course I need to go out this afternoon
I have an ultrasound for my thyroid scheduled. I also needed to go to the music store and pick up William's birthday present (his birthday is tomorrow). At least I can wait until tomorrow to go get it.
This morning (L) and I are hoping to bake bread. She wants to give her parents a loaf of home made bread for Valentine's day.
Today I also need to do some laundry, clean a bathroom and work on restoring a tablecloth. The damage is easy to repair but I am having a hard time finding crochet thread to match. Tonight I will be working on some other projects.
Have a blessed day all, share some love!!

Happy Valentines Day!!!
Schools are closed here today as we are getting freezing rain. The van is totally covered over, trees, everything...what a sight! The boys are happy....Delaney isn't, she is missing her Valentines party although I did tell her they would have it tomorrow.
I think I will make today a craft and baking day! Sounds fun! We can't go anywhere and the kids will love the baking. Delaney received some craft kits from my parents on the weekend so that will keep us busy.
I'll maybe run the vacumn over the area rugs and throw in some wash but that's about it for my lazy day.
Have a great "love" day!!

Good morning all!! It is a nice sunny day here too. It is cold, but the sun is out!! lol That's always a plus!!
Well, we made it through dd-16's "punishment" and she's doing better. I brought her to the Dr's on Friday and they changed her meds from Adderoll back to Concerta and I see a big difference in her mood and attitude already!! It is so nice and I hope it lasts!! lol I actually "set her free" on Friday but she ended up spending the whole weekend home. LOL
Today i need to do:
2 loads of laundry
dust
windex mirrors, tv screens
empty trashcans
clean coffeemaker
scoop cat box
bleach toilets
tidy desk
declutter magazines/newspaper
clip coupons
mail coupons
mail movies
clean livingroom windows
clean pictures on livingroom walls
disinfect doorknobs & lightswitches in livingroom
organize tapes/cd/dvds
polish livingroom furniture
vacuum & wash livingroom floor
clean livingroom light fixtures
wipe livingroom baseboards & ceiling
Breakfast was oatmeal, english muffins & pineapples
Dinner will be steak tips, homemade tator tots, peas, dinner rolls and lemon ice tea.
I need to go out & pick up dd-13's meds this afternoon and get them some Valentine presents. I was going to do it last week, but they had a couple of snow days & couldn't go. I think I will also pick up some of those Little Debbie valentine snack cakes & make them strawberry milk for after school.
Well, I need to get my work done before I go out.
I hope you all have a great day!!!

Brrrrrrrrrrrr! Stay safe in that weather, Heather and Chriss!

I have zucchini bread baking and have the pie ready for tonight. I will make some pb cookies with Butterfinger hearts in them for ds after we run errands in a bit. Nothing much exciting going on here today. I am way too tired to go work outside again today, but I made a lot of progress yesterday and am very pleased. I'm currently surrounded by about a zillion paint samples so hopefully I can start narrowing down some choices for the bathroom that's currently being remodeled.
Happy Valentine's Day!

Chriss~praying you get some good news on your thyroid ultrasound

Sounds like everyone is busy! This morning I talked to a friend for about 2 hours on the phone (I knew it was going to be a long conversation since we have not visited in about a year).
Luckily the boys got right on their schoolwork and got quite a bit accomplished.
I need to head down to work early today. I'm praying that the internet service provider got the new networking card and internet service set up in my new work computer. If not I'm pretty well sunk for the day. If it is in, I need to reconfigure that computer settings, add the printer back on and get my work email accounts back up and running again. My patrons were not happy Wednesday afternoon when my computer went down because it took the internet service on the other computer down with it.
I know that it causes a big headache for some of our patrons because the only access they have to internet is through our library.
This evening I will be at work until 7 p.m. and the boys will be at youth group starting at 7 p.m.. I'll make something light for supper for DH and I since we had our big Valentine's dinner last night.
Praying you all have a blessed and wonderful day!
