Could you leave the corporate world for this?

Countryside magazine had some great articles and letters this issue about those who have left the corporate world to homestead (as they see homesteading).

They went from large paying jobs to purchasing land/homesteads but many are still working but at lesser paying jobs and ones they really enjoy.

Many have struggled but are very content with where they are.

Could you leave the corporate world for a homestead of your dreams and WAY LESS income?

I did exactly that but you all know my story so I'll sit here quietly and read what happened to others.
