My Seedlings Rock!
My little seedlings are doing great this year. I usually have mixed results with seed-starting, probably in part due to having them in a spot where I don't remember to constantly tend to them. This year I put them in a spot where it is impossible to miss them, and I also have set up a fluorescent light for them. They are doing great! My parsley (which I am keping in a little pot- I will plant more outsidet) graduated yesterday to the windowsill because it is a full-fledged plant. I will keep an eye on it for a few weeks to make dure it doesn't need to go back under the lights, but so far, so good.
So far I have parlely, chives, garlic chives, onion, 3 basils, tomatoes, morning glory (which get huge VERY fast) lettuce, statice, and something-I-am-forgetting seedlings.
Grow litttle seedlings, grow!!

Oh, I forgot about my (shhhhhhhh, I don't want them to hear me typing about them and decide to shrivel up) peppers.
The ones I started in peat pots failed both times, but the second time I started them, I also put several seeds in wet coffee filters and placed them in a clear plastic container and then put the lid on. I noticed yesterday that some of the seeds have germinated. Woohoo!1 Now I can only hope they last long enough to get them planted as seedlings.

I'm so glad for your success! Its great Kimberly! And inspiring.
You mention that this year you put them in a spot where you couldn't forget to tend the seedlings -- how I wish I had done the same thing. I have had pretty good germination (all except my Cleome), but I've already lost a few seedlings that got too dry.
PHOOEY!
I was hoping to start some more flower seeds this weekend and your success has inspired me to go ahead and do it!~~Jean~~

I haven't started a whole lot of flowers yet, but I do have 4 or 5 varieties started. I am going to start some more in a little while- I bought a lot of varieties and can't wait to see them all outside.
I stuck them all right on my kitchen counter- I have a lot of counter space, so it was easy. It is the perfect spot because I was able to screw the light fixture chains right into the wood cabinet bottoms (shhh..don't tell!) All the plastic containers and what not don't look great, but I don't really care. Anybody who comes over can just deal with it.
Good luck with your flowers!
