Looking for near instant gratification starting seeds?

Just thought I would share my results with a couple seeds I started that sprouted REALLY quickly, in case you are impatient like me or have little kids you are gardening with and want some close-to-instant gratification.

I planted statice seeds. and had sprouts in 2 (yes, TWO) days. I started them in seed starting mix, and they are NEAR my fluorescent light set-up, but not under it.

Also, I planted morning glory seeds on Monday. (After I nicked them and soaked them for about 30 hours.) They sprouted by Wednesday, and they are about 2 inches high now. That is fast!!

that's fast!

I'm constantly pulling out morning glory here. It's a weed that runs riot over everything. It's taken over entire hills and the council has a poisoning campaign to get rid of it.

Yeah, we have wild morning glory that is making me crazy, but I have always loved MG and plan to keep these in pots under a trellis arch and get them packed away before they can drop seeds.

I love Morning Glories. For my wedding, I had my in-laws plant them so that they would grow and cover the archway we got married under. It was beautiful!
