    Default What kinds of luxuries do you have?

    I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this. If not, feel free to move it.

    I was looking at posts and wondering what kinds of luxuries everyone has.

    Like:
    ~ Do you have a dish washer?
    ~ Do you have air conditioning?
    ~ Do you have a pool?
    ~ Do you have a drier?

    On the flip side, what things do you not have that you wish you did?

    We have all of these listed except the dish washer. Our septic tank won't support one. I don't mind though. Don't tell Dh, but washing dishes is kind of relaxing to me. It requires no thought what-so-ever and I have a clean kitchen when I'm finished.

    We don't have a pool or a dishwasher (well technically we have one, but I haven't used it in so long, I'm not sure it works)

    I do have a drier, but don't use it much in the winter and even less in the summer.

    We have a dishwasher, which I use every other day or whenever it's full. We have a drier which is used constantly-- we're not allowed to hang clotheslines here due to the homeowner's association's strange rules. We have air conditioning, but we're looking forward to being able to open windows this year-- in the old house we had no screens, so we could never open the windows-- so we won't use it nearly as often here as we did in the old house.

     It's funny, I guess I've never really thought of those things as luxuries, but I know they're not necessities.  When we were first married we didn't have a washer/drier-- I remember how happy I was when we got a house that had them!

    The things I consider luxuries are things we really didn't need, but wanted, and saved up for... like the whirlpool bathtub in our master bathroom.

    Uh oh, I'm caught. Some of these I consider luxuries, some I don't:

    * dishwasher
    * clothes dryer - but this was bought 22 years ago when I had babies to look after, it still works
    * split system air-conditioning and ceiling fans in most rooms
    * TV in every bedroom + a DVD and stereo in our bedroom
    * filtered water tap in the kitchen
    * two large bathrooms
    * 3 person spa bath in our bathroom - I'm the only one who uses this - all my boys hate it
    * stereo, DVD and MP3 player in the loungeroom
    * DS has an iPod
    * everyone has their own computer + I have a laptop as well
    * enough good books to last me a lifetime
    * yesterday I bought a Janome Quilters Choice sewing machine on ebay ($417) - my old machine (20 years old) is slipping stiches
    * three car garage - full - 2 new, 1 old
    * the most loving family any woman could hope for

    We don't have a pool - too many chemicals required and too much work to keep it clean.

    The only thing I would like, and it's for my DH, is a tractor mower. We have an acre and it takes about 2.5 hours to mow the lawn.
