Down on the homestead - April 3 - 9th
Good morning everyone. Hope you all remembered to set your clocks ahead and checked those batteries in your smoke alarms.
Rhonda, thinking of you this morning and hoping your dh is getting better.
Tina, praying your dh is on the mend too. How did his meeting go with work?
Not much on the agenda today. Its beautiful here with nice sunny temps so we might go for a small drive or a long walk. I'm also decorating our m/bedroom so I might work on that a wee bit too.
Tonight I need to clean the post office and do some reading for a meeting tomorrow.
Have a super Sunday everyone.

God morning CJ and all those to follow.
I hope Rhonda's DH is recovering too.
Today is supposed to be a beautiful day. I did remember to set the clocks ahead an hour. Sure hate losing that hour of sleep. May take me time to adjust.
Yesterday we did lots of yard work. I weedeated and planted more seeds. The boys took turns mowing. DH of course had to work yesterday so he didn't get the joy of helping.
He is making up for it today. He is BBQ'ing a brisket.
I already clipped and sorted my coupons for the week. I would like to take the day to rest, but will get the laundry done in between resting.
Have a great day!~*Michelle*~

Rhonda, hope your dh is recovering.
Good morning
It's been a rough weekend; dh is stressed and having constant chest pains. The meeting did not go well and emails from is boss this weekend have turn extremely ugly. The boss is demand dh work this weekend, boss will not pay dh, and he does not care if dh is having health issues. It is looking like he will be fired Monday morning. The union is on dh's side and will fight for him but said it could take up to a year to settle. We were just starting to get out the the hole we were in from when dh was unemployed for a year.
I stayed home from church and kept dh company we did lots of talking. This afternoon we are supposed to go over to friends for a visit and at first I was going to cancel but I think it will do us both good to try forget about stuff for an hour or two.
I'm not sure what I'll do the rest of the day. Hopefully rest as I haven't had a good nights rest for over a week.
Hope you're all having a relaxing Sunday

Tina,
I know how difficult it can be when the boss is difficult. Dh went through that for a few months a couple years ago and it was horrible. Praying it all works out okay.

Good morning homesteaders.
DH is on the mend and I think he may be released from hospital today. I'm not opening the store, I'll go to the hospital around 10am and wait with DH to see his cardiac specialist.
Tina, I'm sorry to hear of the continuing problems with your DH's health. I think his boss is being cruel and I hope the union nail him for it. I'm keeping you both in my thoughts.
CJ, it's good to see you feeling better too. I hope we get to see some photos of your redecorated bedroom. I bet you have a lovely quilt on your bed.
Michelle, I hope you took time to relax over the weekend. I know it's a difficult thing to do with a job, a young family, their sports and all your projects but it does make a big difference.
I'm going to catch up on the posts here for a few minutes and then do some housework before I go to the hospital. I know one thing for sure. Our sons and the dogs will be very happy when DH comes home again.
to everyone for your love and support during the past few days.

Just a few minutes to post!
We've had heavy rain for almost two days now and high winds to boot. Everything is soggy. The kids have major projects due this week so I have not had a chance to touch the computer all weekend. I'll try to catch up tomorrow while they are at school.
Rhonda ~ hope your Dh is well now and able to come home.
Tina ~ your DH's boss is not nice! I hope the union is able to help him.
Have a blessed day all!

Good morning!! I am so tired today. I've been awake since 2:30 am. It has been raining here since Saturday and we almost had a flood in our basement. DH "worked" down there most of the day yesterday to prevent it. He had to go buy a 2nd pump even.
Today I need to do:
2 loads of laundry, the 2nd is in the dryer
wash the bathroom rugs, in the washer now
clean the coffeemaker, done
change my sheets, done
scoop the cat box
empty the small trashcans
windex the mirrors & tvs
declutter magazines & newspapers
clip coupons
mail movies, in the mailbox
make a cake
do deep cleaning in both bathrooms
put in for a refill for dd's med
Breakfast was oatmeal, cinnamon rolls, gogurts
Dinner will be steaks (hopefully on the grill), baked potatoes, cucumbers & tomatoes, bread and a white cake w/strawberries
I need to get back to work. I hope you all have a great day!

Good morning,
Thank you for all the good thoughts and prayers! They are a comfort to us.
Well, today is the day some decisions will be made and we're both nervous wrecks. Didn't get much sleep last night either.
The good thing is that I'm too antsy to sit around waiting for news so I'm working away. The sheets are in the wash, bills got paid, bread is rising and now I'm going to dust, vacuum, get soup going in the crockpot and I'm sure a few more things I'll think about.~ Tina ~

Hello Everyone!
Tina- My prayers are with you and your DH. I am sorry that he is having health problems and his boss is being a complete jerk! I will be thinking of you.
Rhonda- I am thinking many good wishes for the recovery of your DH. I hope he will be nice and comfortable resting at home this week.
I have been away for a few days, but you all know what I'm doing right? It's been pretty crazy and I'm now getting a little nervous. I took some pictures of the quilt on Friday and realized when I imported them into the computer that I need to adjust the resolution of my camera. I forgot how, so I'll have to play around with it. All the pictures that I took turned out blurry. Bummer!
I hope to be able to post more tomorrow. I hope you all have a pleasant day!

Tina,
Hope things with you and Dh look up soon.
Rhonda, Glad to hear your Dh is doing better.
Prayers for you both!
Thinks are going well here. It was a beautiful week end and I wanted to start on the garden.
I couldn't keep the tiller going. I think it is the spark plug. I'll take it in to have it looked at.
On the plus side we got the yard started and worked on the new dog pen. I got rid of my chickens and we will be putting our dogs out there for play. It works out well since it was already fenced. We just need to work on it a bit. We won't need to buy anything for this since we are using it.
We are rapidly getting ready for our cruise. I'm so excited!!1 Can you tell? LOL
Well I'm off to look around the village.
Have a peaceful day everyone!

Thank you everyone!
We are home from the hospital. It was not a heart attack
He will see two different doctor's later this week and he is off work over at least one week. They have finally ordered a CT scan as there is some indications that the whiplash from January was worse then they thought.
Now again issues back at work are still unresolved. Dh is phoning the union to see if they can deal with things without him. Dh's boss is going to see stars when he finds out dh is not working for at least one week.
I'll keep you updated
~ Tina ~

I came home early today. We had the carpet cleaner booked in for 12md, he took an hour to clean the carpet and then I closed the store.
DH is not impressed so I had to remind him that I'm in charge of the store now.
