    Default More Planting!

It was such a nice day yesterday I did some more planting. I set out my potatoes and planted peas. I also planted 2 Rose of Sharon trees, a Lilac bush, and 3 maples. Oh and I potted 2 gardenias. Keep your fingers crossed that they grow!

Sounds like you are going to have a nice garden, Cheryl!

I put out more spinach and beets and onions and a new planting of Kale, buttercrunch lettuce and collards and swiss chard. I've never grown the kale, collards or swiss chard -- its exciting! We are out of pea seed, so after we get some later today my son and I will plant more of those.

I've been getting a little bit of asparagus, but my asparagus bed is kind of weak this year. The plants I put out a few weeks ago haven't done anything at all -- was it too early?

And my strawberry bed is barren -- no plants at all. I had only two plants at the end of the season last year, but thought I had nurtured them through so they would make a come back this year. And the new plants I put out a few weeks ago haven't done anything at all. Was it too early for them too?

Fingers crossed Cheryl. Can't wait to hear how your garden does.

Jean, sounds like your going great guns too. Strawberries like sun and heat. If you planted new ones, it takes a bit for them to take hold. Once the heat comes they'll really go.
