    Default planting annuals this year?

I've got seedlings of snapdragons, nigellas (love-in-the-mist), violas and blue sage.  All I need to do now is to weed the garden where they'll go.

I bet they are going to be beautiful when they grow and bloom! Enjoy!

Not too many annuals this year I don't think. I will do some assorted sizes and varieties of zinnias in a couple of places. I just love their colors. My brother gave me a neat plant stand last Oct. for my birthday. Will put it on the front porch but haven't decided whether to do a fern or go with annuals for a splash of color. Maybe a big planting of purple and pink petunias on one of the mounds out front.

I usually plant tons of annuals -- and tried to start a bunch of seeds indoors, but so far not much luck. I tried indoor seeding of several things I've never grown from seed before or were new to me altogether -- Love in a Mist, Sky & Ice, delphinium, petunias, blue salvia, snapdragons are what I can think of right now. I've got a couple seedlings of each -- and not too HEALTHY looking either.

The annuals I usually choose are marigolds, zinnias, morning glory, moon vine, and cosmos. For outdoor pots I like petunias and geraniums. My geraniums overwintered well this year, thank goodness. The petunia seedlings I have are still very tiny -- about the size of a pencil eraser. We'll see how they fare in a few weeks!
