Happy Mother's Day to all the ladies at the village.
Nothing on the agenda today except my brunch in about half an hour.
I'm taking the day off until tonight when I have to clean the post office.
Have a wonderful Sunday everyone.

The tile guy is here working. I don't think he'll finish today though. He's having to make lots of cuts on wall tiles. Maybe it would have been easier if we had used 4x4 tiles, but we wanted to use what we liked (which ended up being 10x13 tiles).
Dh and I gutted ds's room last evening. There is a cable outlet in there and the former owners just had the wire/line pulled through a hole in the wall. Dh lowered it to be level with the outlet and then cut a hole and installed a proper box. He's ripped off part of the window sills and is currently scraping off the popcorn ceilings. I have written some Scriptures on the walls (so they'll be permanently sealed in place once we prime and paint) and I let ds write and draw. Dh will probably work in the room all day.
I may mow if dh will let me. The yard needs it badly. I have done a couple of loads of laundry and made up a new batch of laundry powder. I need to do some baking, but just can't bring myself to do it.
Happy Mother's Day! Happy belated Mother's Day, Rhonda!

CJ~Hope you enjoyed your brunch
Kim~ Good luck with all your remodeling.
Been busy outdoors today, trying to take advantage of the cool, non buggy weather and get my yard in order. Got lots of weeding and laying of mulch done. Jack tilled the garden & mowed the lawn. Sure is looking nice out there.
Have a nice afternoon all & Happy Mothers Day.~*Darlene*~

Darlene, the brunch was wonderful. I got to meet a couple of new people, enjoy time with my friends and it didn't cost me anything. Along with that I got a free carnation. Plus the food was excellant!!!
Its raining here and suppose to rain all day. Just the type of day when you could crawl back into bed with a good book and stay there.

Happy Mother's Day to you wonderful Moms!
I talked with my Mom this morning and she is doing very well. It's so nice to hear in her voice that she is feeling better every time I talk to her.
DH and I spent all day yeterday running errands and hauling our unused junk to the recylce zone and garbage dump. That felt so good. I feel much lighter!
I am loving the van! It has saved us so much trouble and heartache already!
It is cold and gloomy today and I am doing household chores and working on the quilt.
I hope you all have a beautiful day today!

Good evening homesteaders!
I have had a couple very relaxing days. My family gave me a birthday/Mother's Day gift that I have wanted for years. A porch swing
Since Friday I have spent a lot of time outside enjoying it.
This afternoon my oldest ds, 21, bought a tent and two of his friends came over to help him set it up. I had a good chuckle watching them until they finally decided to look at the instruction manual. After the tent was set up the 3 boys sat in the tent for a couple hours talking about all their camping plans for the summer. Later the boys got hungry and grilled some hot dogs and now they are sprawled out of the living room floor with blankets, pillows, and popcorn, watching a movie. All afternoon I've been thinking about 10 years ago when my kids did this; it was fun to watch them today and to also remember back. I guess for today I could say time really hasn't changed things
Tomorrow I will need to get busy getting the housework and baking done for the week. I will be working the advanced polls for our Provincial Elections. I'll work Wed to Sat and then the regular Election day of May 17th. If you don't see me around much that will be why.
Hope you've had a great day!~ Tina ~

Good morning everyone. It is a dull, rainy morning here with cool temperatures. It rained most of yesterday and is drizzling now. There is water everyone, along with mosquitoes and I noticed some black flies (UGH) as well.
Tina, ooooh a porch swing. Enjoy!!
Michele, sounds like that van is worth its weight in gold. Great job!!
This morning I'm doing laundry. I'll have to hang the clothes inside because of the weather. I just couldn't put off laundry another day. The kids were asking for clean socks this morning.
I also need to get bread baked. I think because its so cool, I'll make up two batches and freeze some. That way, when its hot I won't have to buy bread. The hot weather does have to get here at some point.
I waxed the floors at the post office last night. I have to fix up a bad spot I didn't noticed because it was dark outside when I was doing it. The lighting in there is so poor. I'll do that tonight when I clean.
I don't have much planned for this evening. I've been working diligently on a quilt I'm doing. I might work some more on that and do some crocheting as well.
Have a super Monday everyone.

Hi Everyone!
Its sunny but cool out. I will take the sun! I am hating Monday mornings at work...I think we all are in my office. We haven't said a word to each other except Good Morning. Just not feeling talkative. Sometimes I get in a mood too and that's when I would love to spend more hours getting stuff done at home. If I'm moving around I feel much better.
Tina- your porch swing sounds very nice!
CJ- I hope you enjoy your day!
Have a great day!

I have been working on our files today (again). They are in worse shape than I realized. When we had to evacuate last year I just threw things together and things did get turned over and spilled in the van so stuff isn't even where it's supposed to be. At least I'm getting them in shape now and getting rid of all the old we don't need any longer. I need to do a bit of weeding in the garden, but that will wait until later today when the sun goes down a bit.

Good morning girlfriends.
It's raining here too and has been for the past 3 days. Australia is in the middle of the worst drought in 100 years, with farmers walking away from their properties, and yet I can't go into the garden because it's too wet.
It was a momentous day yesterday. CJ, you'll like this. I'd started to think that DH would never give up the store. Although I'd kept nagging, erm, I mean talking to him about it, he just couldn't get his head around actually ringing the real estate agent. To him, that was the point where there would be no going back. Well, yesterday out of the blue, when I hadn't talked to him about it for a few weeks, he phoned me up and said: "I just spoke to Roger about selling the store."
Naturally, I'm over the moon about it. Roger, the real estate man, will be coming to the store today to give us a valuation. I hope it's reasonable because I know that will make it easier for DH. I know that selling the store might take a while, but we're prepared to wait it out and at least this is the first step.
I have a few thig to do in the house today, like baking, laundry and the floors, after they are finished, I'll be sewing.
I hope you all have a great day.

Rhonda, I hope that Roger gives you a great valuation and the store sells quickly! Yeah to your DH for coming around.
Yesterday I went to my mom's for dinner and to pick up Richard. He had so much fun with my sister and his cousins.
The weather was yucky yesterday. We had thunderstorms that uprooted trees and tore off roofs. We were lucky. We didn't get any of that damage. I know we needed the rain for the garden though. It has been dry here.
There is another thunderstorm warning in effect for a county south of us. We are fixing to leave to go to Chris' baseball game in another town and I hope it doesn't hit while we are there. Rick took Dakota to his game in a different town in the opposite direction.
I hope you all have a great evening.~*Michelle*~

Good morning everyone. Its a beautiful sunny day here although with cool temps.
Rhonda, I'm happy for you. I wish you all the best in getting a quick sale for your store so you can move on to your next step. I read about it in your other thread. I know its exciting and yet scarey, but the rewards of an early retirement are wonderful. I personally wish everyone could do it!!!
I'm off to the library in a few minutes, once Michael has eaten his breakfast.
Once I'm back, we will have school and I'll do some cleaning and then quilting.
Have a great day everyone.

Hi Everyone!
It's 80 here!!!!! I love Spring for the anticipation of Summer. My birthday is just before Summer hits, but usually just after the hot weather gets here. DH's birthday is also in the same week (I'm four days older
) We are the same age. Unfortunately we won't be together for our birthdays this year as DH will be leaving before June 1st. It is getting soooooo close. My mind has been everywhere!
Tonight is the personal trainer consultation at the gym. For the consultation they spend two hours with you doing health test and physical fitness tests, talk about diet, who you would be a good match with for personal trainers, etc. this cost $25 and I think is totally worth it! I am worth it! I am so excited! This will be great for me and all the nervous energy that I have been dealing with. As it is right now, I feel like I could run around the block. I get so antsy sitting here all day. DH decided to join a gym for the Summer in CO too!
Okay, I'm done blathering on about it! Have a great day!

Good afternoon. It's such a beautiful day today!!
I had a couple of errands to run today and I did some cleaning in the kitchen. I did 2 loads of laundry.
Breakfast was chocolate chip pancakes & a banana
Dinner will be pork chops, baked potatoes & green beans.
I couldn't get in again this morning and now I only have a few minutes to write. But I hate not writing, so I figured a few minutes is better than none!! lol
I hope you are all having a wonderful day on your homestead!
