kids at the nature center homestead
Posting some pics from the nature center yesterday.
Zachary in the homestead kitchen.
He was amazed by how the old stoves used to work.

Here is Ally with the butter churn. We opened it up and were telling the kids how they made butter.

Here's apicture of Ally sitting in the livingroom of the homestead. Upstairs there was a loft with a bed and in the livingroom there was a table and chairs and a rocker and two spinning wheels.
Ally's face just cracked me up in the rocker. If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. The homestead has a small stable, gardens, a schoolhouse, tool shed, and a church too. It was 90 degrees and we were way too hot to stay too much longer.
The pigs were pretty active and splashed the kids with their water. lol
It was a nice time. The homestead is open on Sundays. Usually we just hike the nature center trails and can visit the homestead animals, but don't usually hit a day when you can tour the buildings too.If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. Great pictures Sara. I see Ally loves having her picture taken. Too cute.
If I could, I'd spend the summer months visiting nature centres, villages and homesteads. There is just something about it that calms the spirit.

Love the pics, and the new avatar.
The place reminds me of some of the living museums we visit around Cape May. The house is like the little Colonial House Museum hidden nex to the police station, and the rest reminds me of Cold Spring Village. (Can you tell I have Cape May on the brain?)

what lovely pictures. I really like the first one at the water pump. I think Alexandra has the cheekiest look on her face there. The green of the countryside is amazing. Thanks for showing us the pics, Sara.
