Thumbs up Another really good read

I'd love to live like this woman. She built her own cabins (3), lives by herself, built her own outside oven, walks and climbs for miles and has her own business, along with being an author of a number of books.

Snowshoes & Spotted Dick by Chris Czajkowski who is Canadian and lives in B.C. is an excellant writer. I love her style and her simple life.

She has also written a number of other books, all of which I have on order from open shelf (library). I can't wait to get them.

btw - for anyone wondering what "spotted dick" is, its a food item.

A good read for anyone wanting to live a simple life (although she works really hard).

For the uninitiated "Spotted Dick" is a steamed Suet Pudding with lots of Raisins in it ( hence the "spotted")

As far as I know it is a "British" concoction, much ridiculed and loved in equal measure

Julia, did you get have this as part of your school dinners like we did?..........covered with lumpy custard?!!

CJ, another good book title to add to the list. Thanks. I had no clue what spotted dick was. And not sure I wanted to venture a guess
