    Default We have a hummingbird!

I have a shepherds hook just outside my big dining room window. I planted some cannas around it and hung my 2 feeders there. We also have a butterfly bush right around the corner off our deck.

Last week Katie said she saw a hummingbird. I didn't get there in time. Of course I have been looking and looking. Well this afternoon, after the storms passed, Katie yelled that there was a hummingbird again! Dh told me to come down. I figured it would be gone by the time I got downstairs.

But it was still there. All 4 of us got to stand at the windows for a minute or so and watch it feeding on the cannas. It was so cool. Katie thinks this is a different one because the other was greener. So I am wondering if we have a hummingbird couple!

    YAY!

that is so cool! I love bird visitors. I've never seen a real huimmingbird. We don't have them here. I hope they stay around for a long time.

I love watching hummingbirds. I think it is amazing how they can stay in one spot with their wings flapping so fast and eat.

Wow, between the weather & the birds, you've had some exciting look sees out your windows.
I love the hummers too. Go buy yourself a hummingbird feeder & watch them just congregate at your house! Feeders are under $5 and you can make your own hummer food with a sugar & water mix.
