    Default Hibiscus plants anyone??

I bought a few of these at the nursery yesterday. I've always thought they were the coolest plants and after I saw that there were some at my work I thought how hard can it be?? Anyone have any luck with these??

I have 3 in my yard - one orange pride, one pink lady, and one peach. Love them! They are very easy here, but I'm in zone 9b. In MI, you'll have to keep them potted and bring them indoors over the winter.

Yes, I had a beautiful red hibiscus last year. I planted it in the ground and it bloomed all summer. In the Spring, it was dead. I think there are two varieties of hibiscus; one is a tree and the other a bush. I may be wrong. I'm new to gardening. So, you should be o.k. if you bring it in this winter.

We have several in our backyard, they seem to do well in our sandy soil!

I have some hibiscus here that were in the garden when we bought the house. I pulled a couple out, and the one left soldiers on through thick and thin. I doubt I could kill it with an axe. I don't feed it, water it or look after it in any way. It survives on rain water.

They like being pruned back and if you do that they'll grow into a nice healthy bush. Oh, and watering and feeding are good things to do.
