Would it be okay to plant some herbs in a window container in the kitchen at this time of the year?

Julie, all you need to grow herbs is warmth and light. If you can provide those two important elements in a little microclimate, you'll have parsley growing out of your ears. Well, not quite, but you'll have herbs. Good luck.
