Fence Idea

I'm in Mexico right now, teaching children living in poverty English. I have been immersing myself into the culture and learning quite a bit.

One of the clever things I'm seeing is the use of mattess springs as a fencing. There are alot of viney plants that grow naturally here and they just start winding their way up the springs.

I think this would be a good method for beans etc.

While I haven't used mattress springs, I am PLANNING to use the wire "springs" from one of our old baby cribs for a flowering vine next year. Now that you mention using springs for vining crops, I may reconsider my plan. Good idea!
