We're Getting A Cow
We are getting a cow for the homestead. A little jersey cow
named BooBoo. In buying milk alone we will save $72.00 a month.
We drink alot of it and I cook with it.
We love fresh cold milk straight from the cows. Used to get it from my BIL when I lived next door to them....
We will be saving money on Milk butter and whipping cream.
I also want to learn to make my own cottage cheese.
I'd like to learn to make regular cheese but I have no clue where to even start.
We have chickens so get our eggs already. We have 23 new baby chicks and most are hens that will be laying eggs by spring.
We will sell brown eggs.

I think it would be neat to be able to have a cow and or chickens, but city ordinance forbids it.
Have fun and good luck.

That's Booboo saying she can't wait to be at your house.
Got your own little farm going there, good for you! Enjoy!

Oh, I'm jealous!
A neighbor had some calves for sale recently so we checked to see if he also had a dairy cow he was willing to sell. He did and she fit with what we're looking for (had never been given antibiotics, hormones, etc.) but he was asking $800 for her which was way more than we could spend right now.
Enjoy!
