Nov/Dec Countryside magazine
This has got to be one best issues of this magazine.
A number of articles are on simplifying (creative voluntary simplicity), home based businesses and this one was great "Going from $42,000 to 6,000 and living to tell about it". This article could almost have been written by us.
Has anyone read the Nov/Dec Countryside and what do you think about the articles?

Homesteadmamma - Thank you for bringing my attention to this magazine. Wow.. I had never heard of it. I don't live close to any books stores but this week I had to make a special trip to the big city , lol, and I went into books a million and found this .
I never ever subscribe to magazines , but I'm going to subscribe to this one today. I absolutely LOVE it. If there are any other magazines similiar to this one that anyone knows of, please share. Does anyone know how to get back issues cheaper than they sell them on the website for, btw? I'd love to have a look at some of their past issues.
Anyway, just had to thank you and tell everyone that if you are interested in some really good simple living reading articles and ideas.. this magazine rocks!Change Jar - 239.00 ~ March 18 , 2006

Jellybeanz - You might also enjoy Mother Earth News (I consider it kind of similar in ways). http://www.motherearthnews.com/
I don't know of a cheaper way to get back issues of Countryside, but hopefully someone else on the boards might.
I finally found where this issue of Countryside was hidden so now I just need to make some time to sit down and read it!

Thank you Homesteadmamma for the post. Great article. I found the article on the Countryside website. Here's the link. I'm assuming it's the whole article and not a portion of it.

Mother Earth News has an archive of all their articles here
http://www.motherearthnews.com/menarch/archive/
You might also want to see if your library have any back issues of Countryside. Even the price that countryside has for back issues (you can find that in the current magazine I believe), it is well worth is.

I'm going to check out their online articles for now. I can't find this magazine anywhere here in our city
and our library doesn't have it either.
I've asked for a subscription for it for Christmas so hopefully...

CJ, I have read it from beginning to end on the bussiness. Doug doesn't know it yet but he will be building me an
outdoor oven in the Spring......
Whether I sell bread along with my eggs and produce I'll have it for myself and it will save energy..
I Love this book

I have been checking ebay and found back issues of this magazine. I got 6 back issues for less than $10.00 including shipping. Probably not the most frugal thing I'll admit ( buying magazines) but since I rarely buy anything for myself personally for enjoyment, it's worth it to me. I received them in three days too. Plus I can always resell them on ebay if I want too. Since I've been watching all the ones up for bid, the bids have went up on them. So at least I know I could always sell if I needed some cash.
I've found so much stuff in them that I will want to refer back too, I'll probably have to get a notebook and take notes before I could let them go.
I also found lots of other mags that look interesting in ebay that are along the same category as this one , but I'll probably make a post separately to ask opinions on those.Change Jar - 239.00 ~ March 18 , 2006
