First seed catalog arrived!
The first 2006 seed catalog arrived over the weekend!! Its the Seed Savers Exchange from Decorah, IA. Wow that was fun to look through. I loved it and loved looking at all the varieties and making note of their different characteristics.
Can't wait!~~Jean~~

Isn't it fun to plan!
I've decided to stick with one certain company: it's Territorial Seed. They are in Oregon and have many varieties that are particularly well-suited for this area's unique climate.
Of course within that, I still get to choose: good for fresh eating, good for canning, good for freezing, good for sauce, matures all at once, matures progressively through the season, etc.
And soon, I'll get out the graph paper and start planning the companion planting.

I agree Valerie, it is tons of fun to plan. Its so hard to decide though! If I am not careful I will order 10 times too much seed and never get it planted. Everything looks interesting and like it would be fun to grow.

My first one came about 3 weeks ago. Nanner-nanner! LOL I just got my third or fourth one a couple of days ago. I have all of the seeds I *need* already (from saving and trading) but there are a few more that I *want*. That's what gets me into trouble every time!

I got my first seed catalogue a couple weeks ago. I have to dig out all the seeds I bought last year that never got put in (cold spring and baby born June 2nd, then a heat wave). Once I figure out that, and where I can find space to put all the "bigger" stuff I want (like squash, pumpkins, zucchini etc) I'll get my garden planned.
What a nice way to spend the winter months!
