Down on the homestead Jan 8 - 15th
Good morning everyone. I woke up to a dusting of snow, very cloudy and warm temps. I'm so wanting some sun though.
Today I need to get a few things done, like laundry and finishing the binding on a quilt I'm doing.
Later I need to also go to the po and clean and I also need to scrub the floors there.
Otherwise a quiet day playing at the village.

Laundry is in my future today after I finish playing on the computer and looking online at the sale ads that started today. I made pancakes for breakfast per ds1's request - really wish I had made some up before the baby arrived and froze them, but oh well - there's plenty more stuff I did make and freeze so it's all good. Dh and I need to work on a dinner menu plan today as well.

Laundry seems to be a never ending thing doesn't it Kim, especially when there is a baby around.
Baxjul, have a wonderful motorcycle ride.
Since I started this thread, I have gotten 2 loads of laundry done and hung. I've also decided to go through every drawer in our home and declutter them. I'm also going to do the exact same thing with shelves.

Laundry is in my future as well...it simply never ends! I did get 2 loads done yesterday as well as a Queen-size blanket, but still have about 3 loads today! I never seem to catch up

Other than that not much is going on up here...I WILL actually cook dinner tonight. I should get the breadmaker out of the garage (it's been there since Aug. when we moved in) and make some bread.
Then it's off for a long relaxing bath I think

I guess laundry is something we all have in common. I have started a load as well. I have about 2 more to go.
I had to run an errand for DH this morning. He has to work, but needed some supplies that I had to go pick up and deliver to him.
Need to get a few more things done around the house. I guess I should get up and moving.~*Michelle*~

I'm taking a quiet day for myself. Last night I got more bad news; now my dad's in the hospital in a different city then my mom. I'm a little overwhelmed time now so I'm trying to take care of "me" today

I was up this morning before anyone else and I enjoyed a cup of tea and piece of toast in complete silences
I'm hiding out in my room today for as long as I can. I'm playing on the computer and reading old magazines.
I should bake muffins and bread today....we'll see.
Hope you all have a relaxing Sunday

Well I am NOT doing laundry. Yay!
I am working, however. I worked 16 hours yesterday and my regular 12 today. The neat thing is that since I had less than 10 hours of 'rest' between shifts, I get time-and-a-half all day today! Cha-ching!

It's just a lazy Sunday afternoon here. I slept in this morn, had my coffee, made tuna salad for lunch (kid's request.)
I may do a load of laundry later tonight, after the kids have a shower. I'll make a quick dinner (Dh is expected home around 6 or 7pm tonight. He's been gone since Wed. on a hunting trip in South Texas.
For now, I'm just relaxing and enjoying the quiet (Kid's are out riding their bikes.) I have the windows open...feels wonderful outside today!
I wish you all a blessed Sunday!

Good morning homesteaders.
I should be doing laundry today but it's raining so I'll do it tomorrow. I'm making quark cheese for DH today. He's been buying some revolting stuff with preservatives and gum in it so I've bought an organic german quark culture and have just started making the starter, which is very similar to yogurt. The cheese should be finished this afternoon and ready to eat tomorrow.
I'm also baking bread today and I have some peaches that I'm making into jam but I think I'll do that tomorrow.
The chooks will feast on the grasshoppers on the nectarine tree when it stops raining. I also had a choko given to me by the man up the road so I'm sprouting that to grow along the fence for the chooks.
My pumpkin vines have a life of their own and have taken over the chook house. There is a solid wall of green leaves and yellow flowers that will give them some lovely shade when the sun returns.
I hope everyone enjoys today.

Well today was semi relaxing. I was doing laundry like everyone else. I felt connected with ya all today. Then went to dad's and cleaned his place up. Came back took a lovely walk and picked up cans with DD. For the rest of the day I have mostly been doing odds and ends to get ready for work tomorrow.

Laundry? Never heard of it!
Gobs accomplished this weekend!
All 6 fruit trees are now planted (finally!), staked, caged, and watered in. Woo hoo!
We were supposed to get the roof on the new house yesterday but the day went down the pot. It did get put on today, though. Woo hoo! It looks sooooo good!
Got my blog updated with pics of all of the progress.
Tomorrow, we have to go up to the big city after hubby gets done with work. We'll be picking up the stove, a few more bags of surface bond to finish the insides of the exterior walls, some lumber tor framing around the windows and doing the temp wall (which will be an interior wall eventually), iron sulfate and coffee for staining the floor, concrete degreaser/cleaner for prepping it first, patch and crack fill for fixing the oops parts, and then swinging by to pick up the windows and doors from hubby's work on the way home.
Busy, busy, busy!

Julia threw up last night, so we kept her home today. I took a personal day. She seems absolutely fine, so she probably could have gone, but I would never have forgiven myself if she got someone else sick, or if she got sick at school.
So far we've played a few board games, done some laundry (which I plan on putting away in a few minutes), clipped some more coupons I forgot that I had to add to my current potluck for sale, washed dishes, and will also be putting out the recycling for tomorrow's pick-up. I have a piano lesson at 4:30, and then we'll pick up Patrick and come home and make dinner, which will be cavatelli and broccoli. My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com
