What's your favorite annual?
My all time favorite is zinnias. I love most of them, however I can't so a growing season w/o zinnias in my garden.

Petunias I think, I usually plant them in baskets and they last for quite a few months!

I love zinnias, too. Also marigolds and cosmos. Oh -- morning glories too.

Tomatoes!!
Yeah, I know they're a veggie and you guys are all listing flowers but I love tomatoes! I love the smell of the plants! I love the beauty of a dark green, 12-foot monster plant, studded with just about any color of fruit you can imagine! I love, love, love tomatoes!
(Someone should really come up with tomato-scented bubble bath, soap, shampoo, lotions, perfumes, car freshener dangly things, candles, drier sheets, etc, etc.!

Zinnias and cosmo's. My yard here is shady but at my old house I would save the seeds and have tons of beautiful flowers in with my vegtable gardens.

This is too funny --- but I understand what you are saying! I agree, there is something about the smell of the plants that just SAYS summer isn't there?!?Originally posted by owiebrain

Okay, Diane, I like the way you think outside the box...
but...(please don't despise me, LOL)

I HATE the way tomato plants smell. I don't like to touch 'em, and I have to wash my hands immediately if I have to mess with my tomato plants. I'm glad someone out there likes the way they smell, though.
As for my favorite annual, I'm not sure- I'll have to think about that and post it later.
