Question Do you garden by your zone or....

Risk it and plant flowers that are not known to grow in your zone.

I love taking a risk. Even if the plants only do well for a couple years, it's fun to try plants that wouldn't normally grow in my zone 3.

I live in zone 6. I tend to buy things that will grow in my area.

Well, I guess I'm a risk taker too --- unless its an expensive plant or seeds then I will heed the zone (my case, its zone 6). I like to give things a try.

I typically grow plants that are known to work well in my area, but I'm not opposed to one or two small experiments each season, which is why I'm probably going to be planting tepary beans. I won't spend more than a few dollars experimenting, though.

Oh, heck. I'll grow anything anywhere, regardless of what's recommended. "They" are not always right.

I kinda fly by the seat of my pants...if I like it, I'll plant it! After years of trying, last year I *finally* got nastursiums to grow!!!
