Question Once planted, do you know every name of your perennials or annuals

We have a lady in town who has the most fantastic flowerbeds every year. She knows the names of every flower in it.

I plant them and end up losing the stick with their name or can't remember for the life of me what they are called.

LOL! If the little name tags get lost (or burned as in the case of DH burning off one of my flower beds), then I'm lost too.

I'm pretty good...mostly because I plant stuff I really love and do research, etc. However...I have no idea about the pond plants, but dh knows them all! He's the pond expert and really knows his stuff.

I know all the common names of mine, but it's not like I have hundreds to remember.
