No, but I think I may get my neighbor to help me make one this spring out under my bedroom window. I like them.. The sounds they put off are so soothing.

Yup....a big one
We had two at our other house, and put this one in the second year we were here. If you have water in your garden, you will have tons of wildlife come and visit! Including the great blue heron

we don't have an ingroud pond because we have too many canetoads here. I do have a ceramic pond on the front verandah that I keep fish and water plants in. We also have a huge pond next door and have lots of visiting migratory birds on it every day.

Yes I do! I love my pond. We are going to redo it this spring.
We have to much run off from the rain, lots of mud in the pond
so DH is going to raise the sides for me. Its 6x10x3ftdeep, we are going to make it a little bigger. I Had the prettiest koi. I got them as babies and they grew to almost 1ft until the #@!#* blue heron had them for lunch. I spend more time on my yard and gardens than I do my house. (and money, it's my frugal downfall
) Anyone have any idea how to keep the blue heron away. I live near a state park with 70acre lake so we have lots of heron.

The blue heron can be a menace! At our other house we had a terrible time keeping them away. We tried everything. You can net your pond (with tree netting) but our ponds were too big for that, and it ruins the look of a *natural* pond. They are territorial though, so it's usually the same one that comes visiting, and they just aren't intimidated by much. Heck, ours would land on the roof and taunt the dog! Usually, they visit at sunrise or very early in the mornings. We ended up being early risers and could check the pond from our bedroom window. At this house...we have not had too many problems. As far as I know, he has only been here once, and it was at dusk?? Very wierd. But our pond is much closer to the house here and maybe that makes him nervous? We did not put koi in this pond...only shabunkins and some other goldfish, which have spawned quite well. It's just heartbreaking to lose those big koi....some of ours were 12-16" long. Maybe he doesn't like the little snacks here....

No, but we do have a large pond on our property. It's about 1/4 acre in size, has a dock, and is full of various types of fish and snapping turtles.
