Default Spring??? Daffodils are poking up!

I've discovered that many of the daffodils in our yard are beginning to show their tops. Some of them are up about 2".

We have had amazingly warm weather the last several weeks and its tempting to believe its spring, but I know its still January! We could have cold weather here right through April. I know the daffodils will be okay, I just hope the trees, especially the fruit trees, don't begin to flower for a while yet.

Also, our sugar maple tree has begun to drip sap ..... Strange winter weather. (not complaining not complaining not complaining --- I hate the cold!!!)

Nothing showing here in VA yet. We've had a mild winter so far but I still expect plenty of snow and ice - just about time the fruit trees bud out.

We have a few daffs scattered here and there from previous owners. I'll have to go check on them. It shouldn't be too much longer before they're supposed to be up here anyway.

I'm just north of you, in Iowa and I've been watching for ours to pop. All the trees, even the walnut have buds on them. We just had a short spell where it frosted, so that's probbly what's keeping them in. Of course, we got a couple inches of suprise snow today which will probbly slow the trees down a bit now too.
