Our oldest son and his family have...
Put in an offer on a farm east of Winnipeg and it's been accepted. I can't imagine either of them on a farm, however they are pretty excited. I'm happy for them.

My son is a saver. He probably has the first nickel he made. The house they live in now in Winnipeg has doubled in price and the housing market is very hot the area he lives in.
So, they will be paying cash for the farm and putting the rest of the money in savings for our grandson's university, which isn't for at least another 10 years.
Very frugal planning!!! I'm so proud of those 2.

Do you have any details on the farm and if they plan on raising livestock and/or crops?

I'm kinda chuckling about all of this because when we moved to the country, my darling son told me we were crazy, he'd never live out in the country, too far from the city, all that stuff.

Darlene, they plan on having some animals, not sure what yet. They have 80 acres which will need some clearing. I know he would like some horses for sure. Dh and I were talking about it this morning and trying to picture his wife running out to the chicken coop to get some eggs. I'm very visual, however I sure can't picture that. Our son on the other hand loves the outdoors, hunting and fishing and the likes, so I'm sure he will be okay. She may surprise us all.
I'll let you know what they end up with. Moving date is planned for the end of June.
