Hello.
I think that we are going fishing today. Although, I'm tempted to stay home while everyone else goes! I have a few things to get done, that would be easier to do with everyone gone
I'll check in later. Have a great Sunday

Hello all! We'll probably wash DH truck today and then go do a little grocery shopping for loss leaders. Then we'll probably watch a movie or 2. Just gonna be a lazy day for us.

Good afternoon everyone. Today is the big football game with the Steelers....will we make it to the super bowl? Who knows!!! I was a lazy slug today and slept in until 11 oclock! The entire morning is gone! AUGHHHH. Oh well..... I intend to make my very first HM pizza crust and have pizza and salad for dinner while watching the game. I need to run the sweeper and do some general straightening up also. Other than that, not a whole lot going on here! I might pull out the sewing machine or just read a book.

Hello to all!

We finally received some rain!!! We are in a severe drought and I am glad this day finally came. It isn't enough, but it is a start.
I am trying to get my house in order so I can start the work week off without any worries. I have laundry going. I like 2 more loads and I think I may be through with that.
DH had to work today. I wish he was off on Sat. and Sun. like me so we could spend more time together. I guess I shouldn't complain because at least he is getting 40 hours. I know there was a time when he wasn't.~*Michelle*~

Good afternoon everyone. I finally went to bed at 1:30 and didn't sleep all that well. I probably should have just stayed up.
I'm doing laundry today as dh has to have a medical tomorrow and I need to drive him to it.
He also has me putting sanding sealer on 3 of his clocks that he made. I'm not sure where we are going to put them once they are finished, however at least they will be done.
I'm also trying to figure out my BOM and hope to have it done by tonight and get started on #5. I'm starting a new BOM on the first Sat. of the month, so want to be all caught up with these ones. I also have to get my $10 quilt block done and help dd with hers.
Tonight it's over to the po to clean and then home to read.
Have a great day everyone.

We had such a great time with my friend, Erin and her family last night. Our kids got along so well, and it is always such a treat to spend time with her. I enjoy Erin and her husband so much. It's a shame that they don't live closer. Also, I'm deathly allergic to her cats, and so when they come, I immediately fill up and my eyes start watering and I need my inhaler. So, we don't spend hours and hours together, which makes me sad. Rob enjoys spending time with them as well, so it's a win-win.
Today, Patrick and I hit ShopRite while Rob and Julia went to church. Then, I kept Patrick home while the other two went to my father-in-laws for Sunday bagels with the in-laws. Pat's got a really runny nose, which may wind up being nothing, but if it's the beginning of a cold, I don't want him to get his cousins sick.
After putting away the laundry, we made peanut butter cookies, and then I clipped coupons and got some stuff ready for online trades. I have a little more laundry to do, and some general neatening up. I also need to see if I brought home what I wrote for the kitchen part of the NYNH challenge and post that. If not, I'll do that tomorrow. I have a sneaky suspicion that it's sitting on my desk at school.
Dinner tonight will be leftover pizza from last night. My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

G'day ladies.
It's monday morning here and I'm ready for another week. Today I'll be baking bread and maybe another quark cake - DH LOVED the last one. I also have to vacuum, clean one bathroom and sow some seeds.
I'm packaging my patterns differently so I have to make up some new packet covers this afternoon for an order I have to fill. Hopefully I also have enough time to write this afternoon.
I got a call from DS Kerry yesterday. He's sick and feeling miserable. He said he had chest pain on the far right side. I think it's a chest infection after he had the flu last week. He has a temp and was off work yesterday. It's the first sick day he's had since he started there but he was worried they'd think he was slacking off. I told him to keep taking the paracetamol, to keep eating oranges and to drink lots of water. He has no appetite for anything else. I had to convince him that Canadian Tylenol is ok to take. He's very suspicious of drugs he doesn't know. lol He's taking the paracetemol that I packed for him when he left and he's nearly out of them. I think I convinced him that Canadian standards are the same as ours. lol
Michelle, it's good to hear you had some rain.

Good afternoon all!
Up early today and cleaned the house. I'm still doing laundry, but should be done soon.
Cold day here we have had the fire going pretty hot all day. I love that thing.
My DBIL came and picked up his dog this morn. We have been caring for her since his new job. She will be back here in a couple of weeks. I had asked him to pick up some parsley for us since he was coming from the city and our little town store doesn't carry fresh. He brought us a treat of 3 HUGE Del Monico steaks. MMMM we will have those in a couple of days.
Later on I hope to work on my throw on my KK and read some more of my book in front of the fire.
Have a great rest of the week end everyone!

Hello. We just came in off of the lake, went fishing. Didn't catch anything, but it was nice to relax and read my book in the sun. Now I have to get ready for the workweek. Tomorrow will be a really long day at work, so I'm checking in now. Hope everyone has a good Mon.

Everyone, it's good to be back on this thread. I was in such a blue funk for a couple of weeks, that I wasn't even reading. But this evening, I've had a lovely time catching up.

Rhonda, I'd suggest you tell Kerry that Americans trust Canadian medications, but perhaps that wouldn't be reassuring after all!
I hope he feels better soon.
Today, I got outside for over an hour. IT WASN'T RAINING!!!! Can you believe it? I scrubbed out the duck feeders and rearranged a few things in their pen. I also did some gardening, which I've described in my garden thread at: My 2006 Garden It was so nice to get out there! I just can't wait for spring!
I also felt quite homestead-y yesterday, as I did a lot of kitchen work. And just whipped it out in no time! I made granola, baked pumpkin bread (freezing some), froze some grated organic cheese, froze meatballs I made a couple of days before, made a scratch dinner, and...gosh I can't remember right now, but I know there was more. I actually did everything on my list. Oh yes! I remember, I mixed up dry mixes: cream of soup (for casseroles) and dry onion soup mix (which I only use for roasting vegetables: 2lbs cut up potatoes - or potatoes & carrots - tossed with 1/4 cup oil and 2Tbsp - or one packet - dried onion soup mix).
We had some fun today: we went bowling this morning. A local alley has a special of $1.50 per game Sunday mornings from 8am to noon (for the heathens, I joke). The four of us bowled a game, then the girls had a snack while dh & I bowled another game. We've decided to bowl, as a family, regularly. We went with Grandma when she was here over the holidays and dh went with the girls last Sunday (while I worked). I haven't bowled regularly in 22 years, but I felt like I did pretty good today. And we enjoyed it.
Come to think of it, I had fun yesterday too. My mom and I went to see the Narnia movie. It was very good. I think it lacks a certain depth of meaning that the book has, but it was well done, enjoyable and only varied from the book on a couple of minor points. Even the battles were handled gently - no visible blood or gore. In the future, I intend to do a lengthy homeschool unit study using the Chronicles of Narnia (all of them) as the anchor or spine. For instance, when reading The Voyage of The Dawn Treader , we would study the seas and ships and navigation and ocean life, and myths of the sea, etc. I would love it if they did more movies based on the Chronicles. I would let my kids watch them when they're a bit older.
Well, that's all for me.

I stayed home all weekend and cleaned. Just coming off of 3 months of overtime and my first real chance to get to the down and dirty cleaning. Feels so good to have a clean house!! Did some laundry, made some banana bread and bean soup from scratch for lunch and cooked up some chicken for a few meals this week. I love to have fresh made banana bread for breakfast with a cup of tea! I had a basement leak over the weekend so will be having workers over this week to fix it. I'm renting this house so luckily I won't have to pay for it. I hope to buy a house this summer. Have a great week all!
