Down on the homestead - Jan. 29 - Feb 4th
Good morning homesteaders. I have a busy day lined up for me. After lunch, I need to head over to our library to do some major cleaning and organizing, then we have a library board meeting after the cleaning. We open on Tues. so we are trying to get everything done that needs doing.
Once all that is finished I want to continue working on my sewing room. I'm almost finished organizing my material so want to organize my patterns and quilting books.
Tonight it's over to the post office to clean and then visit a friend.
Hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Good afternoon friends.
Today will be a homework day. Dakota has homework, Richard has homework and I have homework. UGH! So guess we will all be working on it. Chris is studying his Driver's Ed manual and DH is working.
I have a whole chicken in the crockpot. I will divide it up into several meals when it is done.
Have laundry going and the need to do the basic housecleaning chores as well.
Hope you all have a wonderful day.~*Michelle*~

Hey there! A gloomy, rainy day here in Southern NJ...
I assaulted Shop Rite for the second time this weekend. Total savings $105.00!
DH said I am the sh**. lol
Dryer is broken so I'll be hanging laundry all over the house.
As soon is Courtney is down for her nap, I'm going to cook some stuff up for the freezer. I got what I would call a promotion at my job, and my hours will now be 7:30 to 4 every day. Time to stock the freezer and get out the crockpot!
Have a great week everyone!

I hate to admit it (not a fan of admitting when I'm down) but this pregnancy is finally catching up with me. With three weeks to go, I am exhausted. So, I'm not exactly sure what I'll be getting done today, but I've got big plans, if that counts for anything!
We went to my fil's for bagels this morning (it was our week to buy). Then, we took the kids to Best Buy where Rob used his gift card from Christmas and his debit gift card from Christmas to buy Tax Cut software and Quicken 2006. (We have the 2005 version that we "borrowed" from a friend, and we got to feeling guilty about it...so, we bit the bullet and bought it.
)
Then, we went to Target where we used my Christmas gift cards to buy some party favors for Julia's party next week for the boys she invited. (For the girls, we are giving them some of the cheap Angelina Ballerina stuff I got online a few weeks ago.)
Now, we're home and I just hung a load of laundry on the line and started a new load. I started the dishwasher, also. Patrick is napping, and Rob is painting the lower half of the foyer walls. (There's a chair rail in between the top and bottom...why a chair rail in the foyer...beats me!)
I MAY take the kids to the ShopRite (although I doubt I'll kick a$$ there like Danielle did!) after Patrick wakes up, but Rob also offered to go there tonight. I just am not sure he'll stick to the list.
I have to finish putting away laundry later tonight and figure out what's for dinner. Rob and I will be sorting socks during Extreme Home Makeover. We've got a basket full that needs to be sorted. I also need to type up my notes for class tomorrow.
Hope you all have a great Sunday! My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

My day has started out so quiet. Dh got up early but layed back down on the couch and has just gotten up and it's nearly 12:30! Yikes! Ds is still asleep. I've been up since about 7:00 trying to get my computer to work. It's still not working really good but better than it was.
I've been spending a little time writing in my journal this morning and mostly contemplating how things are going.
I think the clutter monster had a wonderful time at my house last night. LOL My whole house is in disaray and no one knows how it got this way....
So I'll be cleaning and putting things away this afternoon while dh works in his garage.
Think I'll bake a chicken for dinner tonight. Maybe some rice and peas too. Yummy!
I need to do some sewing but may not get that in today with all of this housework that has crept up on me.
Have a lovely Sunday ladies.

Oh Amy
You amazing with all you do. You are a wonderful mother doing so much with your children. How you juggle working and being a mother and wife is inspiring. I hope you can take some time for yourself and rest. How much longer are you working?
I haven't posted here for awhile. Life has been busy; not with homesteading things just fighting the medical system.
I was supposed to bake bread today but I don't feel like it. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get it done. I checked the freezer and took out some buns so I can make sandwiches for lunches tomorrow.
Once I read some more threads I'm going to curl up on my bed and read my book.
Have a great day everyone

Hello ladies.
I'm busy today as well. I have seeds to plant, I have to bake bread and make some sort of dessert, I need to make a new ironing board cover, I must write for a few hours and I have some emails and letters to write. I have already vacuumed and washed the floors, cleaned the bathroom and chicken coop.
I went to see Casey yesterday. She's very sad and I'm worried about her. Last week she had to be assessed by the opposing insurance company's doctor. He told her he thinks there is nothing wrong with her and that she's faking it! He cancelled her therapy!! We tried to tell Casey that this is the common strategy that insurance companies use but she's devastated that anyone would think she'd fake her disabilities. Her lawyer had her therapy reinstated but I think that doctor has done some damage to Casey's confidence.
Amy, I hope you're feeling less tired soon. You do so much, I'm not surprised you're exhausted. Take care.
Good to see you back, Danielle.
Hi Tina, fighting the medical system is always a tough thing to do. I'm thinking of you.
CJ, when you finish your sewing room can you inspire me to do mine too?
Michelle, everyone is head down and bum up in your house today. Good luck with your course.
Carolyn, it's good to see you posting in here.
Have a good day, everyone.

Hello, I've just gotten home from a mororcycle ride with dh. I didn't really want to go, but he made me. He said I need to get away, so I went. It was fun, but I'm glad to be home.
I have to get ready for the week now. We are having leftovers for dinner.
Have a great night.

Today 1/30 I spent hitting some sales. I managed to finalized some rebates and mail them off. ($36 in rebates) I almost forgot about them and the deadline for one is today. I would have wasted that money! I consider a rebate my money! Just so long as it is for something I could use- for instance a razor or deoderant. And not a laptop. I'll add it to my jar for tuition bill.
I've been cooking my meals from scratch with a few exceptions- some of the pantry items are from purchases in my spendthrift convenience cooking days. Which BTW isn't really convenient- you still have to cook it and you have to pay more for it. Then you have to work to pay for the convenience. Jeezz.. why didn't I figure this out sooner!!
I was able to add a couple of 90% clearance items to the gift closet. I got DPNs to make mittens under Missy's tutorial. I used my 40% coupon so the cost was $1.79. I already have plenty of yarn.
I sent off my Swap to the Swap pal for february.
I ate my bread I made. and it sure is delicious! I'll be making more on Wed. since I have to work tommorrow.
The weather is fair so the heat hasn't really kicked in today. Skipped the shower.. once in a while I do that.

Hello to all!
Just got home from class. The professor likes to tell stories about his life. Sometimes he gets off track. I wish he would stick to the topic, but oh well.
Chris started baseball and track today. He had to practice both after school today. Sure makes for a long day because they don't finish until 8 pm.
DH had a fire chief's meeting he had to attend.~*Michelle*~

Oh my gosh Rhonda! Sending big
for Casey! How terrible that her confidence has been shaken. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
I have been working on straightening up the house. It seems every weekend it goes into explosion mode. LOL Our associate pastor from church is coming to see us tomorrow night so I thought he might appreciate having a place to sit on the sofa!
He will be our first visitor since ds2 was born.
Other than that we'll do homeschool and I'll be finishing up my goal getters club goals for the month of Jan. today (guess I'd better since it's the last day of Jan.!). I sent dh off with a list this morning so he could stop by the health food store on his way home tonight to see what they get on the delivery truck today. "Beauty" items are 25% off so the organic shampoo and conditioners we use are part of that sale and can be gotten cheaper than the price I normally pay (reg. price is cheaper at a smaller health food store, but this sale beats that price). Toothpaste is also included so I instructed him to get 3 more for ds (since I can combine the deal with a coupon I have). He'll have to call me and go over it all with me on the phone while he's in the store. Ds1 and I bought some things the other day, but it was all pretty picked over. They didn't know if they would get more on the truck today or not (and today is the last day of the sale). Depending on how much I get accomplished today - and how much energy I have since I'm still not sleeping much - I may start on some of my Feb. goal getters club goals.

Nothing much exciting going on here.
Hubby got some framing done on the upper walls and made us a new toilet this weekend. I got the greenhouse cleaned up and organized.
I need to get the garden prepped for the season but it's slow going with my youngest in super-cling-on mode. Soon enough, she'll be grown and off into the world so I think I'll just enjoy the clinginess for now.
Oh, it's definitely spring here now. We got our first tick of the year. LOL

It was another work day for me. I had to run to town after work to pick up a prescription. DS#1 went with me and filled out an application for a job while we were in town. I pray that he finds a job soon.
Chris will be praciticing baseball until 8pm again. They just started practice yesterday and their first scrimmage is Monday. I don't think they will be ready, so maybe that is why they practice so long after school. I sure hope he doesn't have homework on top of that.
I hope everyone is doing well!~*Michelle*~
