Talking prognosticating rodents! And the arrival (or not) of spring

    http://www.mytelus.com/news/article....159680&lid=hp3

according to this article 2 of the three big groundhog prognosticators of weather are predicting an early end to winter.

However there is a potential border crisis emerging.

The American groundhog DISAGREES with his Canadian cousins!!!!!

Soon we will see a stiffening of the whiskers, a drawing back of the upper lip and a horrifying thump of the tail as the groundhogs retire to their lairs to contemplate the border crisis in WEATHER!!!!

    What to do?????

    Plant early and often!

if at first your seedlings croak due to unexpected late frosts or a late bit of winter, plant another round.

    seeds are cheap.

Never mind Margery, back when we had our huge snowstorm in May a couple years ago, our local groundhog predicted spring early. I heard on the radio today the reason for his mistake was because the poor guy fell in love and was just too busy to predict right. Gotta love these guys for coming up wi th a reason for the poor guy making a mistake.

Our poor groundhogs here in Texas are just too confused to be predicting weather. We have had a winter that felt like spring. We have had very little cold weather and realitively no snowfall at all. They must think that their calendars are wrong and that it is April and not Feb so need to check a shadow.

Punxatawney Phil (sp) saw his shadow but his accuracy rating isn't too good anyway. He has, however, starred in his own movie.

We go buy Phil here in CT. It's just a shame that it was sunny this morning.
