    Default How do you...

clear an overgrown area for a garden? not a huge area, but about 40 foot square. There are also devil's walking sticks trees there too! What equipment do I need if any?

Hmmmmm.....one of thos chipper/mower things sounds like it would fit the bill. Can you rent one? I don't know what else you would need- sounds like a bit of a chore, because you will also need a pretty hefty tiller or something to get all those roots up.

    Good luck!

I know but I need it out of dog range :-(. I am pretty sure that you can rent one. Thanks for the advice!

Well I'm clearing land off with a lot of blood sweat and tears.
(in other words all by hand and digging )
If you can find another way go for it..
    Good Luck

I cleared 150 ft of my property that included pricker bushes, poision ivy and small stumps with a long handled pair of loppers, a pick axe and a shovel. It was nasty sweaty hard work.

Devil's walking sticks are trees that are thin, tall and have large thorns all over them. I have already began clearing the area by hand and so far it is working out well. Thanks for the advice though!
