Exclamation Down on the Homestead - March 19 - 25th

    Good afternoon homesteaders.

This past week hasn't been a good week for me. I've learnt a lot though in regards to people, disappointments and how to work at getting over them. Been a pretty tough week here. Hopefully this week will be better.

After making breakfast for the family, I've been quilting since. I finished another top for the charity quilts I make along with almost finishing a quilt I've been working on for the past month. I should be finished quilting it tonight.

The reserve I send the quilts to called me on the weekend and the ladies were wondering when I'd be sending more. So I decided to get as many finished as I could this coming week.

Tonight we are off to church, then home to clean the post office.

Not sure what we will have for supper yet.

Hope everyone is having a nice Sunday.

Ds and dd have both had some health issues. Thankfully ds is on the mend now that his wisdom tooth came out. I'm concerned about dd still though. She has not been well over almost 3 weeks now. She blacks out about 5x a day, she's dizzy, nauseated, extremely tired, and her heart races when she walks to the bathroom. I couldn't get her in to our doctor until next week so I've taken her once to the ER and once to the walk-in clinic. They don't know what's wrong with her. She hasn't been able to work and she barely makes it through her one college class a day; her assignments are not going well either.

I don't seem to be getting much done around the house; life has been too busy. I'm hoping this week will be better.

Tomorrow is the first day of spring but we still have LOTS of snow and it's been snowing the last few days. Last year we were mowing our lawns at this time. If the weather warms up it will still take a month for the snow to melt and the lawns to be dry enough to rake.

I'm off to try finish the book I'm reading so I can start some new books my dmil just bought for me. I'm having a hard time waiting

It morning everyone. It's Monday morning and I'm up early. Dh and I just finished yesterday's dishes and now I'm playing here.

We had a wonderful church service last night. It's the first time we've attended this church and I'm thinking we have finally found our home church.

I finished quil ting the quilt I was doing yesterday. I only have the binding to sew on. The material is all cut and ready to pin. I also plan on finishing the charity quilt I was working on yesterday.

Along with that I need to:

    ~bake bread
    ~bake some muffins
    ~clean the bathroom
~wash a couple loads of laundry
~get the kids working on their schoolwork
    ~clean the post office

Sometime this week, I also need to get our taxes done. I don't want to wait until April 30th.

Tina, hope your able to find out what dd's problems are.

    Have a great day everyone.

The sun is shining this morning and the warmth feels wonderful.

    Today I need to:

    change sheets on our bed
    do two loads of laundry
make bread - it's rising right now
    make cookies
    return a DVD
write some notes for dh's specialist appointment
    pay bills
    dust
    clean the downstairs bathroom
pick up letter from the hospital

I'll be home most of day which is exciting for me. Those kinds of days have been rare lately.

Happy first day of spring everyone

CJ I hope things get better for you soon.

Tina, I hope you DD feels better shortly. I hope the docs find what ever is causing the problem and correct it!

This last week has been busy for me. DS had a hip replacement and is now in a rehabilitation center. So I have been making trips to see her and to take care of her laundry and the like.
Today, I washed 6 loads of wash and have packed her a suitcase of clothing for the week. I hope to visit her tomorrow and take the items to her. I also have some soup in the crockpot for dinner and it sure smells good!

Tonight I am hoping to pick up the house a bit and crawl into bed early. Lately I have been extra tired. I have no clue why but bed sounds like a great thing to me about now!

DH has been cutting beef and pork with his friend so we have not had much time to connect but maybe tonight we can at least chat for a bit.
Well, I am off to get my butt in gear ! Talk to you all later!

Went to work today, had to go have my CT scan at 11:30. On Wednesday, I have to be at the Dr. at 9:00, he thinks that my mysterious lump in my neck is in fact, my artery. SO, he may put me in the hospital this week to do surgery. Not really sure, until he sees the CT scan.

Going to do some laundry now, before bed. Have a nice night!

    Hello Homesteaders~

Cj, I'm sorry you've been disappointed by someone. I know how much that can hurt.

Tina I hope you find out what's causing dd's problems.

Things have been so crazy around our home lately. My mom is doing better but still in the hospital. We're hoping that she'll be coming home at the end of the week. (fingers crossed for luck)
I've been trying to keep both houses, see that the laundry stays done, make sure my ddad is eating, not to mention my own bookkeeping, and all the other things that life throws your way in the course of a few weeks.

Today I was here most of the day, did some bookkeeping, paid a couple of bills, ran to the p.o., stopped at the grocery store, so on and so forth. Later I ran into town to see my dmom for a few minutes and dropped off a deposit at the bank. Mom was in good spirits when I left her.

Gripey and I had leftovers for dinner, now we're watching the tube and playing on the computer. Not very productive but very relaxing.

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

*We're debt freeeeeeeee! (including the house)*

I've had a mixture of good and bad news. Friday I went to the doctor and he things i have endometriosis. I will have 2 have a surgery to determine for sure.
The good news is that we won our child support case (the dh's ex wanted us to pay her child support when the daughter lives with us). So we have extra money to pay towards bills and we got my college (working on my masters') loan money in so we can pay off some extra bills this month.
Haven't got a whole lot done around the house lately I really need to get motivated, I've just had a lot of cramping and been really tired. Well....I just need to get motivated, I can't stand a cluttery house.

    Hopefully tonight I will:
Dust the living room and dining room
    Wash sheets
    do 2 loads of laundry
sweep and mop the living room and dining room
    clean the bathrooms

Oh CJ and Tina and Julie

I hope you are all feeling better.

I hate to come here and tell you all my woes,.....everyone seems to be having a tough week or weeks,so I just will stick to the my gardening.

we had a couple of lovely sunny days after I returned from the spring break camp with 8 yr.old. I had a couple of small jobs but still I managed to get into my garden and I cleared out my herb bed and one of my vegetable plots... It feels so good to get them ready.
I will be planting lettuce and spinach and potatoes.......it will all help us through the next couple of months.

But I also was able to harvest kale, arugula, parsley, corn salad, chives and 4 asparagus spears!!!!
And some lemon balm for tea.

I also noticed some nettles beginning to sprout down by the mail box so i might harvest some of those for soup. The children won't eat them but Dh and I will.

I came home to a nice suprise. I had to stay late at school to help with the cheerleader tryout practices and by the time I got home (8pm) my dh's had cleaned (or attempted and it is the thought that counts) the house. He had dusted...kinda...he dusted what was visible without moving anything and cleaned the bathroom...kinda...I was impressed with his thoughtfullness and seeing his attempts gave me a good giggle.

    Tonight I will:
    ~finish his dusting
    ~finish the bathroom
~do at least 2 loads laundry
    ~unpack the main bathroom

    March 22/06

Busy machine quilting and baking granola bars today.

Took dd#2 on a walk and did some banking. Took her for a treat at a local coffee shop. Good time. I steered clear of any and all controversial topics.

    Hello. Thanks Holly!

I go and have a biopsy done on Fri. morning, then in two weeks, I'm scheduled for surgery. The "mass" is pinching off the blood flow to my brain. The artery is being pinched between the tumor and my thyroid. So, I guess we'll just have to see.

Tonight, I have to make dinner, and pick up a little bit of clutter. Then I'm going to sit and read until bedtime! Have a lovely evening.

Today was a hard day. This is the first year anniversary of my mothers death. So I had to take dad to the cemetary.

Afterwards I helped my friend take the trash to the curb. We are helping her clean this out for an estate sale and then to sell the house. It is a nightmare.

Later to DD over to another friends house to play with their dog. Now I am getting ready to spend the night crafting and watching american idol.
