Down on the Homestead - March 26 - April 1st
Good morning homesteaders. It's so hard to believe this is the last week of March. Our weather is finally starting to feel like spring. The little snow we have is almost gone, although we are suppose to get flurries tonight. UGH!!
Not much planned here today. Want to work on a couple quilts and get them pinned so they are ready for quilting.
Tonight it's off to church, then home to clean the post office.
Hope everyone has a nice Sunday.

Good afternoon...I finally have 2 minutes to post! It's been sooo crazy! We are moving Saturday from NH to San Antonio so we have been quite busy with that for the last few weeks and I apologize for not having been around. I did get my gardening page done though!
My dso and I planned a little wedding before we leave, that is happening tonite, just a small ceremony at my parent's home so they can be there.
And just this past week my dad who had emphysema was diagnosed with really invasive lung cancer as well. We won't find out what his treatment option are until later this week.
It's somewhat of an emotional rollercoaster to say the least. Fortunately, soon to be, dh's last day of work is today as well
I'm enjoying the first half hour I've had in a long time of peace and quite as the little one is napping and my older son is with his dad...no one is home and it is totally quiet
I'm sure there is something I "should" be doing! This is just wonderful, taking a moment to read and catch up with you wonderful women...
Please keep me in your prayers...I will be back in full participation soon

Today so far I went to help our my friend clean out her mom's house. We got another room done this weekend. YEAH. After a quick shower I will be going to work for an hour or two and then some quick grocery shopping.
Tonight I will be folding clothes and sewing while watching TV.

Good evening

Yesterday it was feeling so much like spring and I even opened a window for awhile; BUT this morning I woke up to snow
I went to church this morning, then made breakfast burritos for lunch. The rest of the day has been mostly for relaxing. The rest of the week will be very busy getting ready to go to Vancouver for dh's testing. We have a lot of paperwork to get in order before we meet with the lawyer.
I'm trying to figure out a way of taking some food in my suitcase so we don't have to eat out so much. I was checking the prices at the hotel we're staying at and a simple bagel with butter is $3.50
I'm off to finish a really good book then I'm going to bed.~ Tina ~

Today DS and I finally got all the wood stacked up! It took us a while but all 1 1/2 cord is stacked. Whew! Tomorrow I'll probably have another back ache.
Rest of day just did dishes, played some video games. watched tv and finished my gardening page.
DD emailed me more pictures of DGS so I'll be printing those off tomorrow. He's just so cute!! I can't wait to see him again. Two more months and they'll be here for a visit.
Everyone have a good day.

Last week of March 06
Clear sky & of spring: robins, mourning doves, bird songs & sunshine early in the morning, sprouts & shoots outside under the wet blanket of leaves.
Down to the end of this years wood, yesterday we collected up a few loads of stems & pieces to keep us going through the week. One more week of keeping the furnace off with help on the energy bill.
Can't decide if I should get serious indoors with spring cleaning or get outdoors to work in the garden. Probably get a chance to do both since I am up early & do not have to leave to work elsewhere.
Thinking ahead to various new projects: chickens, worms & solar food dehydrator. Chickens & worms come first!!!!
We were able to order just a handful from a woman who is incubating eggs quite close to here. The chicks won't have to suffer any traveling trauna going through the mail.
Homesteading= working for yourself as much as you can.

Good morning everyone.
A huge welcome to redmaples. Nice to see you posting in the homestead thread.
Tina, hope it all works out for your trip down south.
I woke up to a very cloudy day. It's suppose to rain with a chance of flurries. It's +2C though, so the rest of the snow will soon be gone. Yeah, I can't wait. Even though we've had a wonderful winter, it really is time for spring.
It's our spring break this week, so not sure exactly what all I'm going to get done this week.
For today, I plan on:
~baking bread
~finishing the binding on a quilt I'm doing
~quilting a small wallhanging that I got pinned yesterday and doing the binding on it as well.
~folding clothes
~getting ready for the Creative Memories party I'm having tonight
~cleaning the post office later tonight (after said party)
~decluttering more
Hope everyone has a great Monday.
