Default Down on the Homestead April 23rd - 29th

    Good morning. How is everyone?
Well, the rain moved in as expected. We do need it.

I don't have too much planned today. I try not to on Sunday's.
I'll balance the checkbook & go over what bills need to be paid & pay them!
I'll look over my week & plan.
    That's about it.

    DH cooked breakfast this morning.
Lunch will be soup, crackers, carrot sticks & raisins
Dinner is a turkey breast, mashed potatoes, green beans & fruit salad

Well, I'm going to go do my afternoon routine so I can relax & listen to my baseball game at 1.

    Have a great day!!!

    Hi everyone

Dawn, I hope you got to listen to your baseball game.

Wow, it's hard to believe yesterday morning we woke up to a dusting of snow and today is 16C. I am so enjoying the sunshine.

I slept in this morning; I slept 10 hours! I feel so much better and my headache is gone.

I made two loaves of bread and a dozen muffins but otherwise I've rested and watched a movie with dd. Tonight we're all going to play a game and I'll make popcorn.

Ds#2 and dh are outside working on the sundeck. I'm praying dh doesn't overdue it on his injuried ankle; you know men, they don't know when to stop and rest. I know he's pushing to get the deck done for me so we can set up my porch swing. Sweet man

Hope you all have a great day.

Well today we got up to 76. I had to go to work for about 5 hours but I got a lot done.

After that went over to my friends house. She inherited this house after her mom passed away. OMG this place is awful. We have finally gotten rid of all the trash. Right now we are trying to find the best way to sell the rest of the stuff. Took some things to sell at work.

After that came home and did some wash. have it hanging outside on the drying rack. The rest of the evening will be spent relaxing and sewing.

    Hello homesteaders

    It's hot outside; it's 23C and I'm loving it.

This morning dh and I had two appointments and once we returned home I've been working on laundry and yardwork. Dh has been working on the sundeck.

My little seedlings are coming along nicely and they're loving the sunshine too.

I finished reading Julia's Hope and later tonight I'm going to start reading The Children's Blizzard by David Laskin.

    See you all tomorrow

Good morning. Well, today is a bit better weather wise. The sun keeps poking out & it's supposed to be in the 60's. I better enjoy because it's going to get cooler again for the rest of the week. It's also supposed to rain later today.
Well, yesterday I worked in the laundryroom & got my work done. Today is kind of a short list. I need to do:
2 loads of laundry - hangin outside
get a package ready to ship
    Declutter papers & magazines
    Clean out the fridge
    Do a 54 fling boogie
    Vacuum
    Dust
    Tidy up house

I didn't need to make breakfast this morning as no kids are home. DH made himself a bagel and is up on the roof now.
I don't know what we'll have for lunch yet. I'll figure that out in a bit.
Dinner will be ham & cheese pasta, steamed carrots & fruit.

my 17 yr old dd has an appointment at 2 today. After her appointment, I need to pick up the other 2 children who spent the night at a friends house. The mom took them swimming (indoors) today. That's about all the excitement on my homestead today!! LOL

What do you have planned for today?
I hope you all have a great day with whatever you're doing!!

Oops, starting a little late, but better late than never!

The weekend (Sat. and Sun.) were positively gorgeous -- the weather was just like the balmy days of Spring is supposed to be. Unfortuneately, the rains came fast and furious on Sunday evening and it was only this afternoon that they started to let up. But here in Nova Scotia we have a saying: "April showers bring Mayflowers." I can't wait to get out to the country-side and find me some of those blossoms.

On Friday I made myself some split pea soup and I loved it so much I am planning on making more for myself this week, but I'm not sure when.

This week, my intention (re: what I hope to accomplish) is the purging of my clothes for Spring. I want to put away some winter clothes and bag up some things I know I won't be wearing anytime soon, and make a list of the things I will be needing.

I also want to clean out my bedroom of all the junk that has been lying around since March (when I moved into this apartment).
