Bats now crickets
The life of a homesteader is never dull. About a month ago, we had a bat flying around our living room. I was literally crawling on the floor to get to our bedroom to shut the door so that dh could get it. My quiet evening, relaxing in my rocking chair reading had suddenly come to an end. I was petrified. Everyone else thought it was funny. Well not this homesteader, I was ready to cream anyone who laughed at me again.
You'll all notice I've been on here since 6:15 a.m. Not my time to rise in the morning. We were serenaded most of last night with a cricket. Dh wouldn't get up - oh no. His excuse was that he didn't know where the bug spray was.
Well this homesteading mamma knew where it was and I had about had it come 5:30 and so I sprayed. Did I spray, the porch, the kitchen and anything inbetween. I was so darn mad, how dare that cricket interrupt my much needed sleep. Didn't he know I have a long day ahead of me. He could either sing somewhere else or he was a DEAD cricket!!!!
Guess what, he is a DEAD cricket!!!!! After spraying, he decided, how dare he, to come into MY living room. Well not only did my cat see it, but so did this homesteading mamma. If he was going to play the game all night, then I was going to play a game too. Right into the garbage bag he would go.
Moral of the story - show dh where the bug spray is every night before I go to bed!!!

You brought back a memory. There was always a cricket in my grandmother's house. It used to make her nuts looking for it. I swear it was there from 1969 and is probably still there now.
Funny how it's a peaceful sound outside, but so darn anniying inside. LOL
RIP Senor Cricket. LOL
