    Default Garden - YAY ME!

OK We hired someone to come till up an area for the garden this am at 7:30am. We have put in about 1/2 of the garden. We've already put in corn, peas, onions, bell pepper. We still have more onions, cucumbers, broccoli, and pumpkin to put in.

I just moved here (Maine) from FL last fall. This is the biggest garden I have ever had. It's more than 7 or 8 times the size of one I had in FL. I really didn't grow much there though. Wish me luck and a good harvest.

Where are you at? meaning coast or inland? Upstate or down east? You'll have different choices based on where you are, but the things you have planted all of my family have had great luck with. If you are feeling brave give potatoes a try! Maine's known for our potatoes. (yes, i still say our...i am slightly misplaced, but still a Maine girl) You could probably do well to get some berry bushes in too. Strawberries always were a good bet, so was rhubarb. And Our raspberries and blueberries were always thriving too.

Good luck. We never got to harvest our garden last year as we moved too soon. I can't wait to have another garden.

Good luck with the garden. I wish we would have planted something, but we opted not to this year.

My location - ummmm - well NW Maine - near Farmington closest decent size town is Lewiston but that is like 50 miles away. We're really close to Canada. Almost at Sugarloaf. LOL funny thing though, I had to ask someone else where we are. LOL

We're gonna try potatoes - BUT couldn't find any, so we are looking for our potatoes to grow some eyes and use those. I am not sure it'll work but I'll try.

I'm gonna hit up a strawberry u-pic and a blueberry one too later on - take them and eat bunches then freeze some.

I think it's too late to plant anything in my zone this year, but next spring, I'm definitely planting some pumpkins! I love pumpkins. I don't eat them, they are just cool to look at and decorate.

Good for you! You have a really short growing season, don't you? I wish I was back in a cooler climate, because veggie gardening here is so hard.
