Do you harvest seeds?
Just wondering if any of you harvest your seeds in fall and store for spring. I have so many seeds, I was thinking we could have a seed swap or something. I know most of the things I grow would be annuals in many of your climates, but hey, a pretty annual that you didn't have before is worth $.41, right?
Anyway, let me know if you're interested, and we can start posting seed lists and making trades.

I'd like to start harvesting seeds from my pepper plant, at least. I have some basil plants, too... anyone know when they throw off seeds? And how would I collect seeds from my tomatoes? If I can get the seeds, I'd love to swap!

Swapping seeds sounds good. This is the first year I've harvested seeds. I'm anxious to see what happens when I plant them in the spring. Let me know what I need to do to swap seeds and I'll do it.

I'll ask Sara Noel to add a seed swapping board. We can post our "haves and wants" there, and people can PM us for trades.
I'll also post an article on how to harvest and swap seeds in my blog. Maybe Sara Noel will let me sticky it.

Can someone just buy? The only seeds I have are four-o-clocks - and most people don't want those because they take over. I could probably get seeds for acacia trees, but I do not know how well they start.

Oh Edna, I LOVE Four o'clocks! Remind me of my grandmother. I have them planted all over. I'll gladly trade with you for them.
I'd also love to have seeds of the desert acacias! They are so cool! They grow here.

Ok. The acacias are coming off now, the four-o-clocks are not yet. I have pink ones, but think I can get yellow ones from someone else here.

Pink is fine. We can trade for some of my pink and white striped ones. I'm getting my list together. I'm sure we have some of the same things that will grow in each other's climate.
