    Default Help! Cutter bees

I finally got to take leaves from my pitiful-looking rosebushes to an expert to find out what the problem is. He said we have cutter bees, which apparently do not eat the leaves, they use them to make nests. Recent storms have torn up their nests, so they are building new ones. He did not know of anything to deter them. Anybody out there have any suggestions?

O.K., so you want perfect roses? Go buy silk. No offense, really, but bees are the pollinators you need for your plants. You can easily kill them by spraying or dusting your roses with sevin, but why would you want to?

I just take it as a fact of nature that plants and bugs are bound to get together, and if the bug isn't killing the plant, I just let him be.

I think these are killing the plant, and I have the impression that there is something different about them. Does Permethrin kill things, or just run them off? I prefer a deterrent to anything that kills when possible.
