Default What are our southern state friends doing?

NC is dry as a bone...

We can barely grow grass. We also have stage 3 water restrictions... (watering with containers only.)

I wish winter would hurry and get here... I feel extremely jiped with Fall... My fav season...

North Florida was having a lot of rain the past 2 weeks or so, but none so far this week. Before that rain though, we were practically growing hay in our yard (no rain).

    Default some water problems

the county above me,Elmore county and county next to it. , alabama who's water supply comes from the tallapoosa river which is in middle state forms lake martin. A huge recreation water system. Thier supply hose, that draws water from the lake is high and dry. they are begging corp of engineers to get georgia to release water from thier resevoirs. They have took barges to move the intake out further into deeper water. Elmore county also has Lake Jordan which is the coosa river to draw water from but i guess different districts have different problems.

Dry here in FL too, although we can water once a week with sprinklers and can hand water without restriction. My plants are dying, because I just can't water them enough with the high temps and no rain. My work schedule is such that I lose plants every year due to the dry season and not being able to water enough.

I've given up trying to replace plants I lose. I'm just letting what lives live and what dies die.

Georgia is dry. Some places around Atlanta could possibly start water rationing. Here in middle Georgia it's bad but our restrictions apply only to outdoor water uses, and we can still use water outside but only on certain days/times.

I live in North GA and we had a nice rain, early this morning. Yay!
Otherwise, we're in a Level 4, also known as an 'exceptional' drought.
Lake Sidney Lanier, Carter's Lake and Lake Allatoona's water levels are very low. The lowest I've ever seen.
Last night, I saw a woman carrying bottled water out of the grocery store and she didn't look like she could afford the luxury of buying bottled water, but I guess her well or spring was about dry. The drought is having a huge impact on the economic lives of the poor and working poor around here.

I'm in North West of Atlanta - just curious where you are Dixie?

same here, level 4 ban - they opened up the 'snitch' lines now so neighbors can call & turn in their 'watering' neighbors.

It must have rained a bit early this morning/late last night, because my deck was still damp, but nothing to write home about

Hi Bumplett, I'm in North Central GA, not too far from NC and TN.
