starting work outside
Ok, I'm heading out the door to start trimming back all my bushes, The nursery said yesterday its ok to start transplaning , pruning etc. whoo hooo finally!!
I'm going to prune my, mock orange, snowball, honeysuckles, spirea, every thing but my lilacs.
My spring flowers are are popping out of the ground, The tulips are about 3 inches tall, I've got green everywhere!!!
I also have some pampas grass & butterfly bushes to split & move.
I don't think I've ever been this excited to work outside, so here come the shorts & t-shirt, & the feel of dirt in my hands.. oh spring, deep breath..Pine trees, with their needles pointing up to heaven, represent everlasting light and life.

Yep, I'll be doing some work in the yard this afternoon. Peeling back some of the winter mulch and pruning. It's exciting... but, I'll not get too carried away since we have one more hard freeze due to us.
Hubby has started transplanting seedlings to his row tunnels (mini greenhouses) in the garden.

this weekend's going to be a little warmer than usual.
i always turn the garden over a couple times before planting and feed the soil prior to putting anything in it.
after a little rain (or melting snow) to dampen the soil i'll begin transplanting in a couple weeks.
the bulk of stuff won't get put down until after the last freeze... but everythign else that requires "setting time" will get put in pretty soon!
yay I get to play in the dirt again!!!

I am jealous! My yard is under 3 feet of snow! I fear I will be picking ice off the shrubs in uly!

It is still rather chilly today, but at least the wind is gone and the sun is shining. It is too early to plant anything here, but I am going to go outside and pick up things that blew around yesterday, and trim some of my bushes.
