    Default AAAARRRGGGHHHH Gardening help PLEASE!

I was so proud of myself my Spinach I planted had started to sprout and I just knew any day my peas were going to do the same. I went outside a minute ago to show my sister the fruits of my labor and discovered a squirrel or some other animal had dug all around in my planters. How do I keep it out!?

I have the same problem with seeds and plants sometimes. I place some small screen pieces over the seeds till they get a little bigger. Last year I made little wire cages to go around cucumbers, as the little buggars really liked them !!! It sure did the trick. The "cages" we maybe 6" high, and just big enough to go around plant - till it got established. Scrap pieces of wire or screen will work.
    Hope this helps!

We made hardware cloth cages for my moms tomatoes to keep the squirles out and even put an top and a door on them

My sister used an electric fence laid only a few inches off the ground to keep them out of her garden it worked but she had to remember to turnit off when she was out there and then back on.... no little kids or pets in the house.

You can kep a dog in the yard to slow them down.

I have had raccoons mess with my seedlings. I think they were trying to get to the water in the bottom of the tray.
