Default Calendar for family activities

As hard as I try to keep my kids' activities to a reasonable level, there always seems to be more activities than time! Planning the logistics of transportation, sports uniforms, snacks, homework is a real challenge! So, here's what we do:

On Sunday night we sit down and update the family calendar. We list all activities and afterschool appointments for the week.

Then, each morning, DH and I coordinate who takes whom where!

Cell phones are a Godsend in this respect because we can have the teens call us when practice is over, etc.

Even though we live within a few miles of town and all the various schools and practice fields, it still takes quite a bit of co-ordination.
Plus, we are not ones to tell our kids to "see if you can get a ride."

It's worked so far, I've only forgotten and left one child (DD14) at school.LOL And believe me, she hasn't let me forget it!

We do the same thing.
But since DH work's second's, it's me who is doing all the picking up and scrambling to get everyone. lol
Except on weekends.
Then he does all the running. lol
I have found calander's at Kroger's and Wal-mart that have accessories to go with them. ie: stickers and such to put in there.

We do sorta the same thing. Our calendar is a big dry erase one. Each person has their own assigned color marker for their events and activities. It makes for a lovely colorful calendar as well as making quick glances easy.

I have multiple calendars around my house, but I am trying to find a calendar that is big enough and still small enough to fit on the fridge, I'll have to see what I can find!!

I buy a desk top calendar at the dollar store. Its big and works great hung on the fridge. I attach (with glue) a couple magnets to the back of it and hang it up. I have ALL the kids write what they have going on as soon as they know what their schedule is. I also get a new one as soon as they come out and go through it and add all the birthdays, anniversarys, appointments or dates that I need to know on it. It sure saves time as everything is in one spot, and its checked at night before bed, and again first thing in the mornings so I know who is doing what for the day.
It is big enough to hold a ton of info with room on the bottom to add notes.

This is what I do too. Each family member has their own color they write their schedule in too.
