    Default Digitial Home Manual

I use gmail for my email. I am thinking of using this for our home manual.

There is a calendar built it to it. I can add daily chores to the calendar. The calendar is linked to my husbands & kids email also. I can even set it to send a daily email w/ the chores. I can even put up daily menus.

Documents is also a option to store all of that info in lists, graphs, spreadsheets, etc.

I think the only thing it does not come equipped w/ is a recipe thing-a-ma-jig.

Anyone else using digital? I'm thinking I will save money on not buying paper, binder, folders, etc.

    That's a great idea!

I use AZZ Cardfile for my recipes - it's a great little program that I got for free a few years ago - you may want to Google it to see if it would work for you (I'm in NO way affiliated with them - only mentioned it because you said something about recipes)

    Default Evernote

I use Onenote myself for my recipes and things and love it, but it isn't free.
There is a free version of Evernote and it works basically the same way. You can even store your notes on the web if you want to. I did play with it and it seemed to do a good job plus you can send things to it from your browser.

I use google calendar, but not to the extent you do.

I list hubby's work schedule, training schedule, guard schedule and subpoenas on it. I list appointments, bill due dates, and various outings with friends.

It sends reminders to my cell phone.

I've tried the binder several times but couldn't keep it up, I am much more comfortable with a digital version.

In the past I had a palm pilot and really liked the palm software for organizing everything. There was a desktop version that I could type things into and then I would sync it with my handheld. I kept all my recipes in text files, which I would attach as notes to the supper event in the calendar on the day that I was making them. It was nice to have recipes in my pocket.

Now I use an ipod touch. I have an app with a calendar and to-do list that will sync with google calendar and toodledo. I have one calendar that DH can access which has appointments, travel, etc. and then separate calendars just for me with menu and chores, etc. They all show up on my calendar in different colours. To-dos are in Toodledo by project. Addresses and phone numbers are also synced between computer and ipod.

I haven't organized my recipes yet, but I have tried recipe software in the past and didn't like it. I prefer to just type them into plain text files. I have a document management database on my computer where I keep pretty much everything. They just released an iphone app but I haven't tried it yet. I will likely put recipes in there when I get around to it.
