My new price book (smartphone app)
If you have a smart phone you might be interested in it. It's an app called pricebook and it's my new best friend. You add a general entry, say, milk, and the units you want to track it in. It asks for the name of the item, the number of units, (as an example, I tracked my milk in ounces because there's so many different containers and they all have an ounce listing) the price for the item, what store you found it at and whether it was on sale. Next time you click on milk, it will bring up a list of all the places you've seen it with the price per ounce, and arranged in lowest to highest price.
It's really cool. I don't think I've ever been able to use a price list before, but I think I'm going to need one here in CA because stuff is so expensive.
I think the app cost 1.99.

Oh, you're in Monterey now!
How are you liking it? Beautiful place! Taken the kids to the aquarium yet?
I used to keep a written pricebook and loved it. Seems like it would be much more efficient and easier with the phone app.

very cool indeed!! I'll look for it! i wonder i there is a freebie version of the same idea, so people can test it out to see if they want to buy a better version??
I'm loving my fuel log app. it was a freebie app. you log in your mileage, gallons, and price per gal. It keeps an ongoing list of info and gives you your MPG.
I really like it.

Gosh, I have no idea. I'm not tech savvy at all. Sorry!
My daughter threw my iphone into the toilet the other day. My phone was trashed. =/ I synced it just a day or two before it happened so when I bought my replacement phone I was able to restore most of it, but I had spent the day before updating a ton of prices on my pricebook so now they're all gone and I have to update them all again. I'm probably going to sync it once a day from now on just in case.
(Btw I'm hoping my renter's insurance is going to pay for my phone. Still waiting on a call back. )~Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.~

Oh my word, your new phone! Glad that you synced it! I don't think I'm ready to pay for apps yet and when I searched for a free price book one, it had not been rated so I was leery on downloading it. I may have to bite the bullet and go out and buy a card to buy the apps. (I am not comfortable storing my credit card info on my phone)

I'm not sure what kind of phone you have, but with my iphone, my credit card information isn't on it. I use my appleID to buy apps and the purchases require a login and then the fee is charged to the card I have on my itunes account. My screen also locks after a couple minutes and it requires a passcode to get into. I'm feeling pretty secure with it.
My mother in law left her iphone in a gas station a few months ago and the kid that worked their had a friend call in the station and identify it so he could keep it. I'm hoping my passcode will prevent this. (Btw there's a setting that causes the phone to completely wipe clean after ten bad attempts to unlock it, so be aware of that just in case. I have it turned off because my toddler can go through ten tries no problem.)
For anyone else that has an iphone, you should get look into the "Find my iphone" app just in case you lose it. I just got it yesterday. You can log into your apple account from another computer or smartphone and see where your phone is on a map, send a message to your phone, make it squeal even if it's on mute mode, lock it or even wipe it.
Sorry I know that's kind of a weird tangent but I thought you guys might find it useful.~Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.~

Thats what I meant by having my credit card info on the phone - I don't like storing my info on the itunes. I know you need a password to get into the phone and another for the account but something about it just doesn't sit well with me.
The Find My Phone app - that was the very first app DF put on my phone. That phone is more handy then I ever thought it would and could be.
I guess the only way around my paranoia for the itunes is to buy a card and have that info on the account.
How's the app going for you - still loving it? Have you discovered any cons yet?2012: The Year Of The Purge!

Yeah actually I haven't discovered any cons yet. I am still building up my information so hopefully after a few weeks it will really pay off.
