Household notebooks and home manualsTalk about the various ways you organize your home with manuals, journals, lists, calendars, day planners, binders, index cards and notebooks.
I finished putting together my Coupon Notebook. Melody and I were talking about them the other day, after she put hers together. I'll have to ask to be sure, but after putting it together and taking it with her to the grocery store, if i remember right, she saved something like 30 dollars. Isn't that fantastic? Hope I am remembering right...
Anyhow, she shared with me how she set up hers, and I followed pretty close how i did mine. She followed suggestions from this site. ( had to look it up using ask.com, because i forgot the site, hope this is the right one http://pages.ivillage.com/lwmsavon/id2.html ) so mine is very much like this format. I got happy decorating the front though...is anyone surprised?
anyhow, here's my sections:
a business card page that holds store discount cards etc, plus some of my cards and dh's cards too (people always ask for DH's card when they strike up conversations at the supermarket) then the pages that hold three pics
a few photo pages, the kind that hold three pics for holding onto rebate forms.
baseballcard pages for organising coupons I have those tabs that come in multi colors that have categories on them...clear as mud? here's the tabs http://www.staples.com/Catalog/Brows...e=1&Sku=113373 I got the multi color pack.
cardstock to use as dividers (i already had this in the house so i figured I might as well use it) I used the tabs as mentioned above to lable these.
heres the sections I made with those items:
Cards: business cards, discount cards (1 pg so far, i can add another page later if i need to)
Rebate Forms
Coupons: I used the paseball card pages and labeled one sheet per category as follows:
Baking Supplies
Box Mixes-Packaged Foods
Breakfast -Cereals
Canned Foods
Cleaning Supplies
Dairy
Dressings-Sauces-Seasonings
Frozen Foods
General Merchandise (film, toys, magazines, whatever)
Health and Beauty
Juices and Drinks
Medicines
Paper Products
Pet Supplies
Snacks-Junk
Restaraunt
Service
Other
With a cardstock divider I did:
Weekly Menu Plan
grocery Shopping List

It looks great Missy! I use mine all the time. I have a big clippy thing on the front that I attach my shopping list to and also an envelope with the coupons in it that I know I will be using after looking through the ads.
Well my notebook is not nearly as pretty lol. It was really helpful to me having all my coupons with me instead of just a few or forgetting them/my list. This keeps them neatly all in one place
Laura, LWMSAVON, the lady who designed the notebook, and whose page Melissa linked to, is one of our members here. She hasn't been around for a while, but she doesn't mind if we use her idea to design our own notebooks. I do like to give her the credit when I tell people about my notebook though.

Ok, you inspired me~ I created my own coupon notebook tonight! I used the baseball card holders for coupons, only I put mine in order of the store I most frequently use~ ie: canned goods are in the first two aisles, so that's the first category of coupons in my book.
Thanks for the ideas~ I think this system will work well for me!

I am so glad to hear you could use the idea too! I took mine fr its "first time out" today and I did well. I only had to pick up a few things. I had all my coupons at hand and used them! I was expecting to spend 50, ended up spending 40. Not too shabby for just 6 coupons! I picked up a newspaper today too, so I will be clipping later tonight.

Wow that is great. I need to work on a Coupon NoteBook. I do not even have a Coupon Notebook.
I have a ClipBoard that I store all my Coupons on.
