Organizing coupons

In our family we have what is known as the coupon box. It is a large size index card box (not 3 x 5 but the next size up) and has a set of a-z dividers in it (well we lost the I but the only thing we put there was ice cream so we don't need the I often) I sort most of the coupons by the first letter of the product with the exception of dog food, shampoos, razors, makeup, toothpaste, and pull-ups there may be a few other generalizations but typically its what I think of first when I see the product so that I can locate the coupon fairly quickly.
When I grocery shop the box goes in a tote bag with my list, the cash for groceries, and the sale ads.

I use the same organization method that you do, so I won't be much help. I don't put it in my purse because it's too big (or my purse is too small, depending on how you look at it LOL)

I use a photo album that has the area under the picture so you can describe the picture. (i used the paper slips that came with the album..Dollar Geneal Store) I made a list of everything I could think of..Dairy and broke that down into Milk, Cheese, yogurt, ice cream, etc...Cleaning, broken down into categories and so on..I then got a pack of tabs that I brought for school and put each letter on the beginning page of that section.. so it's a simple thing to flip thru to find what I need quickly and yes I very seldom leave the house with out it
