Mosquito Repellent
I just read this article about planting lemon balm to keep the mosquitos away. I rather like the way it looks too.

I use citronella candles a lot. What other things do you use to keep insects from bothering you?

If I'm going to be outside I make sure to use Avon's Skin So Soft. I really think it helps and smells better than repellant.

Thanks!!
I hate to use anything with Deet, and we have a 'natural' spray repellent, but it smells weird and won't wash out of your clothes.
I did use to make some from a recipe that included vinegar and Avon SSS, but I lost the recipe!
It worked so-so.
This is GOOD news, about the lemon balm, cause we are spending the summer and fall in the woods, and we are almost carried off by them everyday!______

Thanks, we use citronella candles or just plain old bug spray.

I sell AVON so I use the Skin So Soft sometimes. We also have a SSS that is specifically for Bugs - it's called Bug Guard. Some has SPF in it and some is in lotion.
My parents came to visit (From FL to Maine) and ended up buying 2 bottles from me while they were here and said they will definitely order more when they start to get low. Bug Guard is only available during the Spring/Summer (clearances in Fall) so if you do want it, just know it's not available all year long. If interested in seeing my website just PM me and I will send you the address (not sure if it's "legal" to post on here).

Thanks to this thread, I planted lemon balm around our front and back porches.
I figure if it doesn't work, we'll put some in our tea till we're too knocked out to notice the mosquitos.

Bugzapper.
Cheaper than fireworks, and you can watch it all summer long.
BZZZZZT! Oooh, that was a BIG one!

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Thanks for the tip about the dryer sheet. My son ended up getting mosquito bits yesterday. Of course, I have plenty of dryer sheets.

Dryer sheets have lots of yucky chemicals - they work, but I would be cautious. Another group I'm on suggested supplementing with vitamin B1 to eliminate mosquito bites.
