Clean an oven

What's your advise to clean an electric oven? It's really old and hasn't been cleaned this year. It does not have the "auto cleaning" option.

The floor is the worst. Walls aren't too bad and the racks I can probably man handle into the tub with some ajax / comet.

It's really hot here (115 yesterday) so I'd like the "least sweat and smell" option as I can't open my windows for fresh air.

I don't know for sure this works, but I've always heard that you can put your oven racks out on the lawn overnight and the dew cleans them. You just have to wipe them in the morning.

Hmmm... now that I actually typed it, I don't know how that could possibly work, but if you try it - let us know. As far as the rest, sorry short of Easy Off, I don't know what to tell you.

It's really hot here (about 112 today) and we don't have morning dew. I thot about your suggestion and the only thing I could think of was that I would come out to ant covered racks! LOL! Thanks for the suggestion, tho.

Easy off for the inside and oven racks. Put the oven racks on newspaper outside and spray. On the outside of oven windex works really well. May need to spray and let sit for a while then wipe off.
