Default Glad we've switched mostly to oatmeal

Most of the time we have oatmeal anymore. Really we started doing it a while back for our health. As time went on even my dd started eating it. We get the large boxes of Quaker -Old fashioned oatmeal. It's great with cinnamon and a banana! Just nuke it for one and a half minutes +/-.

    Much, much cheaper than....cereal

PLUS it's going up(what's new, huh?)

DBF makes it for me almost every morning. It stays with me so I don't snack all morning at work.

    YUM Oatmeal is the best.

We used to make it when i was little by boil water with raisins in it then adding the oatmeal boiling a little longer lidding and letting sit on the back burner til ready for breakfast. Definately made to stick to the ribs. Then piled into a bowl hole in the center for a dolp of butter then closed in the oatmeal. Sprinkled with a little Dark brown Sugar and cinnamon and then some nice cold milk poured over top. As you dug in the butter would bubble up and mix with the milk cinnamon and sugar. Doooo decitant and Delish!!

But i have had oatmeal with just a little sugar or honey or molasses or icecream what ever i had on hand.

BTW if you make oatmeal cookies with way less sugar then normal and a little extra oatmeal ( be sure to plump your raisins in water before adding so the batch doesnt get dry ) they make great morning snags.. when you just dont have time to eat a bowl of cereal.

I have a weight watchers recipe for baked oatmeal I use a lot. It's just me so I divide it out into individual servings so I have breakfast done for the week. Just put a bit of margarine, some SF syrup and nuke it a minute to warm it up. It's about the consistency of bread pudding.

I've always like oatmeal, but the fact it's cheap makes it taste even better.

We are gonna switch to oatmeal and rice when we run outta cereal. I just got 40 boxes of cereal a few weeks ago as i found it on clearance at walmart for .50¢ a box.

DD has oatmeal for breakfast on school days. We've noticed a big difference in her when she doesn't have it. We have her on a modified ADHD diet.

Over the past couple of months, I have made more things using oatmeal. I've been on some kind of granola and granola kick lately. Whenever I do eat a bowl of oatmeal, I have been adding milled flaxseed, ZSweet (0 calories all-natural sweetener) and vanilla.
